Last night, duckduck
and myself traveled out to Bunker's on a school night. A girl at the bookstore's friend's boyfriend's band was playing. Holiday
! Normally, that sounds like it would be a recipe for disaster. But no. They were really good!! I had a great time!
They had a trumpet(!), which seemed to be mainly so they could play "Ring of Fire."
They also played, besides their own stuff, Snoop Dogg, Ace of Base, Kelly Clarkson, The Buggles, and uhhh, other stuff. I know it sounds weird, but it was completely enjoyable!
From almost the moment we got there, the power of The Legend seemed to be working. ;) I think auroram
was a little mystified because she's never seen The Legend in action before. But the singer started talking to me from the stage right away and ended up singing to me quite a bit. What can I say? I have some sort of magical powers, I guess.
Because we are easily suggestible, and there was alcohol consumed, we all bought a copy of their CD. The guys in the band all came over to chat with us and mingle. I introduced duckduck
to the wonder that is the Jager Bomb, so we were pretty happy and giggly. The bass player is a major book geek and launched into a dissertation about how wonderful the B&N Bargain section is.
On the way home, we had a sing along in the car, featuring Kelly Clarkson and more 80's songs than you can shake a stick at. Good times!
They're playing around here like a bunch of times coming up, so I'm sure I'm going to see them again soon. (Like, say, Sat night) Wheeeee!duckduck
, who I hope doesn't mind that I posted this, because she looks adorable!
