So I'm all "I don't need to record this Jersey Boys tribute to The Sopranos because they'll have the Broadway cast on, not the new Chicago cast." And I couldn't have been more wrong because I looked over at the TV and there indeed was Jeremy Kushnier and I still kind of adore him and now I'm mad at myself. *sigh* Guess I'll be looking for a torrent tomorrow.

In other news, I'm watching the Emmys. I'm not sure why.

these last.fm stats are actually more entertaining )

I've been sitting here tonight, just idly adding CDs to my iTunes that I've downloaded and left just sitting here. And I'm not even a quarter done and I've already added 428 songs. How does this happen? I have a terrible music addiction.

My God I hate this stupid Macy's commercial more than anything right now.

Okay, so I'm too lazy today to write an actual review of last night's show. It was great. That's going to have to be good enough. =)

I told [livejournal.com profile] geneli4 that I would upload the acoustic version of "Best Thing You Never Had" for her, but decided just to upload the entire CD instead. If you like any of the other Butch Walker stuff I've uploaded, snag this. Serious.
This is Me...Justified & Stripped

Also. How about some new Kasey Chambers? This is the new single.
Nothing at All CD Single
Includes "Nothing at All" (okay, not my favorite)
Cover of "Round Here" (I really dislike this song, so I think that's tainting my opinion)
Cover of "Circle" (pretty!)

Today hurts. A lot. My back hurts from stupid airline seats, my feet hurt from running through the airport in inappropriate shoes, and my head hurts from adjusting to the time change. Plus, my allergies are awful today. I think I should just go home.

[livejournal.com profile] dazeebean? The credit card bill came in with our Wicked tickets on it. So, whenever you can pay me for your ticket would be great. It's $85 and we're going on July 12th. Also, Rory? You still wanted my extra ticket? That one is $94 and it's on July 22nd.

Hey [livejournal.com profile] geneli4! Remember that whole kerfluffle about recording the song from MySpace? I just thought you might find this interesting. I was talking to Christian from Killingbird on Saturday night about that very thing. I told him that I recorded songs from their MySpace profile so that I could listen to them whenever and wherever I wanted until their new CD comes out, and that I sometimes share them around to get people interested. He told me "that's great!" and I should keep doing it. He loved that I listened to it enough to know all the words. So, artists do indeed understand that once a song is out there like that, people are going to appropriate it.

I was going write up my recap of this weekend today, but as I was editing my photos I realized that I should also edit and upload all the other photos that have been sitting on my desktop. Like the RATT & Skid Row photos from earlier this year and Stimulator and the Sludge show from last summer. So, that's what I've been working on today. Besides trying not to melt in the heat. Thank goodness my air conditioner works!

I can write about Sunday though. As some of you know, I was feeling rather anti-social and depressed yesterday morning. I made myself get out of bed though, and spent the afternoon and evening with [livejournal.com profile] dazeebean, [livejournal.com profile] taylorea and Andy. Bren was kind enough to cut & color my hair for me (it's not red anymore!!!!!) and now I feel all kinds of pretty. Laura made us dinner and we watched a lot of TV. It was very nice and just what I needed.

I haven't been hungry at all the past few days. It's probably the heat. Seriously, it's been in the 90's and humid! There was frost on my car window last week, so it's kind of a big change. Friday I had a couple chicken strips. Saturday I had about 4 bites of a sandwich and a few chips. Sunday I just had the dinner Laura made. And today I've had a little chicken and a peach. I'm not really hungry though. I get like this sometimes - where I just don't feel like eating. It'll get back to normal soon, I'm sure.

Nothing much else to report. Here, have a song:
Live Again - The Pleasure Seekers
Trust me, it's pretty.
leighblack: (Sven - Sven & Abby)
My day has gotten slightly better since this afternoon. The fact that Britt from BBJ left me a comment on my MySpace about seeing me soon helped some. *g*

I haven't posted any music in days. Hey, that happens. I've been busy.

Fuck Off and Die - Peppermint Creeps
I Love to Say Fuck - Murderdolls

ETA: OMG! Sven in a muscle shirt! With his goat!! *dies*
leighblack: (Rent Movie - Utter Joy)
I missed Song of the Day yesterday since I was dog sitting for my parents again. I might keep up the songs from movies I like theme for another week since there seems to be a lot of them.

#1 Crush - Garbage from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

This episode of CJ, besides being interesting and very slashy, is extremely beautifully shot.

OMG! I got an email back from Sven!! Okay, it was pretty much just to say thanks for the email, but still...
leighblack: (Rent Movie - Utter Joy)
Can't Even Tell - Soul Asylum from Clerks

A great song from a GREAT movie!
leighblack: (The Office - Glee)
Echo in My Head - Holiday

If you like the pretty pop rock, this one is definitely for you! Holiday Rocks!

Also, [livejournal.com profile] taylorea & a are in for Holiday on Sat night. Anyone else? And they added a show at Bunkers on St. Patty's Day. Anyone interested? Maybe people already have other plans at actual Irish bars, but I'd like to go.

That is all.
leighblack: (T-Rex - Daaaaaang!)
Since I've watched like 8 hours of Celebrity Fit Club 3 today, the song is (Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection by Nelson. Gunnar & Matthew still soldier on as The Nelson Brothers, but they'll never recreate the magic of that first CD. I had a really hard time choosing the song since I adore them all, but that first hit seemed the most appropriate.

I haven't done jack shit all weekend. I suck.

I've seem to have hit the illegal download jackpot lately. I finally found a decent copy of "These Days," which is apparenly the most impossible to find Kasey Chambers song ever. It's a live acoustic version, but I'll take anything over the crappy copy of the recorded song I have now. I also found a bunch of her singles, with a whole load of live tracks. Including "Nullabor Song!" *loves* Then I found a complete copy of Let it Scream, which I only have a cassette of. OMG! "Father Mother Son" *tear* I found Roxy Blue's Want Some this morning before work too, and I can feel I'm close to finding Trouble Tribe. Honestly, take Roxy Blue, Trouble Tribe, The Scream...add in Kik Tracee, Southgang, Wildside, BBJ and FP's Whipped (all of which I already own) and you have my junior year of high school right there in a nutshell. And then, I also found a torrent for Skid Row's Oh Say Can You Scream, which I still think is the hallmark of band home videos. It finished downloading yesterday and I had to restrain myself from staying up late to watch it. There's so much good stuff! I should try to dig out my VHS copy and transfer it to DVD.

Note to self: Don't forget to look for a torrent for yesterday's Ellen with John & Rainn from The Office when you get home.

My mom's uncle Gabe died on Wednesday. (I've mentioned my 2nd cousin the writer before - she's his daughter) He was 94, so this isn't a sudden thing or anything. I'm not real big on funerals, but since that's one part of the family we actually talk to, I'll be at the service on Saturday. Along with every other Lebanese person within a 30 mile radius. I can already hear my uncle harassing me about showing up to church more often. I think the last time I was there was my grandmother's funeral in 2001.

On a very odd related note, I just looked my grandma up on findagrave.com and she's listed as being buried in a cemetary that she is most definitely NOT buried in. Huh?

Otherwise, this weekend is pretty quiet, which is good. I have almost 300 pages of the book club book yet to read, not to mention my road trip diary, Ratt & Skid Row photos to edit & upload, laundry, and trying to get myself better. Next weekend is going to be busy with Holiday playing multiple times and Laura's Oscar party, so I need to get this stuff done now.

Oh, Holiday on March 4th at Jersey's anyone?? I have to work so I can't make it down to the Austin show on Friday, but I'm going to try to make at least one of their Mall of America performances too, if anyone wants to come along.

That's it for now, I think. I've been given a project I completely don't understand or know how to do, so the rest of the day should be interesting.
leighblack: (Madonna - confessions)
the new Madonna CD (which doesn't come out for another two weeks)? It's not very high-quality, but it sounds okay to me.

Confessions on a Dance Floor

Even though this is a remix version, the new Madonna song kicks all kinds of ass:

Has anyone found a copy of the actual single yet? I'm dying to hear it!
leighblack: (Chad - Band Whore)
Shut Up and Fuck - Betty Blowtorch

This is the original, rather than the live Faster cover. Enjoy!
