leighblack: (The Office - Calculator Watch)
Okay. So The Office was pretty much perfect last night. Every scene & every line were like magic! spoilers ahoy! )

But, I need to have a little talk with ER. Seriously, you were doing pretty well this season. Uncle Jesse has brought some life to the show and the storylines have been somewhat better than normal. But then you had to go and have a cliché ratings-grabbing wedding. Okay, fine. But to end it like that? SO OBVIOUS. Like from a mile away. WHY?

I had to cleanse my palate after watching that with a little Jaynestown. Always a pleaser!

Speaking of that, I keep hearing nothing but wonderful things about Waitress. I wish it was opening here this weekend! The movie critic I always listen to who hates pretty much everything said that NF was a very charming leading man. =)

He also hated Spidey III with a passion. But I don't care! I'm excited to see it (and Steve Valentine!) on the Imax!
leighblack: (Steve - omg!)
I have the caps of Steve Valentine's appearance on Boston Legal's episode Spring Fever up here. I'm hoping to get the second episode up yet tonight. *eyes clock* We'll see.

ETA: BL: Los Angeles caps are here.
leighblack: (Chad - Band Whore)
I was all excited to watch Steve's episode of Charmed when I got home from work yesterday. Only to turn on the DVD Recorder and realize that there was nothing on it. Even though I know I set it up. grrrrr... I'm sure I did something wrong though, so I have no one to blame but myself. And, of course, they're not running it again or anything. *GAH*

So I think I checked my settings about ten times when I set it up to record the Rent performance on the Today show this morning. I even briefly debated calling in sick so I'd be home to record it, but since my boss is out, that wasn't really an option. The show was already shown on the East Coast and the Rentheads are all ga-ga over it. They did both "Seasons of Love" and "What You Own." YAY! At least if I messed up recording this time, there will probably be a video of it up on the internets before I even get home.

I blame my stupidity on being exhausted lately. It must be the heat or something, but all I want to do lately is sleep. And drink water constantly. Today is cooler though, so hopefully I'll feel better.

In my never-ending quest to stalk Chad Stewart, I bought this CD the other day by a band called Triggerdaddy. Well, not a band so much. More like one guy I've never heard of (Tim Karr - who's rather pretty), with a bunch of guest musicians. Gilby produced it, which is how Chad got on it, I assume. Sadly, I'm such a fangirl that I can tell which songs Chad did without looking at the credits. But...they did a cover of Prince's "Peach" and that's NOT one of Chad's songs. Hello?!? What's up with that??

And...

Do you read my journal?

If you read it on a regular/semi regular basis, leave me a comment and let me know.

Then post this in your lj and find out who reads you.
leighblack: (Rent Movie - Live Each Moment)
Note to self: Don't forget to set DVD to record Charmed, tomorrow morning, 8am, TNT

And the Rent cast on the Today Show, Thursday morning, 7am, NBC

And then cry because the Rent wide release date got bumped to Nov. 23rd, instead of the 11th.

That's all.
leighblack: (Steve - oooh shiny!)
I've been using these icons already, either today or over the past week, but I thought I'd collect them all together in one post. Just because.

Also, if you're into that sort of thing, Caps from Steve Valentine's appearance on Married With Children are up.
leighblack: (Steve - Utterly Fabulous)
(and it's going to be a short list because I kind of did fuckall)

1. Pretended I was an adult and bought myself an actual piece of luggage. No more borrowing a suitcase from mommy & daddy when I go away. Now I have my very own!

2. Saw Crash. Very, very good movie. Highly recommended! Not a happy movie, by any means, but very powerful. It really dragged me in. Though I still can't stand Brendan Fraser.

3. Colored my hair. This was a must! Besides the gray(!) roots I needed to hide, the highlights Bren put in a while ago had turned really brassy due to the abnormal amount of red in my hair. I used a medium ash brown to counter and it turned out a shade darker than I would have liked, but it looks really nice. It still has obscene amounts of red in it! But the brassy crap is gone and my roots aren't glaringly obvious, which is what I was shooting for, so I'd say it turned out well.

4. Cleaned up the music files on my computer. This is what I spent most of my weekend doing, and yes, it's an extremely geeked out way to spend the weekend. But it really needed to be done. I had music sitting in way too many misc folders, and many of the files, especially the d/l'ed ones, were either misidentified or had names that were unhelpful. Unfortunately, the main culprit of this was the nearly 2 Gigs of Rent bootlegs, since the booters usually leave the files listed by number. I wanted them all listed by song and performer, so I had a little work to do, hunting down cast lists and such. But it's all pretty much done! All of my wandering folders have been condensed into 4 main ones - My Music (for CDs I rip myself), Downloaded Music, Rent Boots, Wicked Boots - with appropriate subfolders. All my video clips have been collected into either Video Clips, Rent Videos or Wicked Videos. All files are named and labeled with correct titles and artists. ALL of the Rent boots have been identified as best possible and renamed and relabeled. Yes, this took a good chunk of three days to complete, but now it's done! All I have to do now is go back and work on fixing the Genre labels for everything, which is pretty easy.

5. Watched WAY too much L&O: TOS and L&O: SVU. I really, really miss Angie Harmon & Elisabeth Rohm. I do not miss Dianne Wiest even a smidgen. I went & picked up dinner last night during her episode. =)

Things I did not accomplish: laundry; cleaning the kitchen, living room or bathroom; packing; burning CJ episodes for folks.

And now for the whining portion: Jeremy Kushnier is (supposedly) playing Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar from July 11-17 in Kansas City. There are still really great tickets left. I shouldn't buy them, but I really, really want to!

Oh, and if you didn't see it in dev's journal, she found some audio clips of Steve doing commercials. If you want a laugh, go here and listen to the Animated Yeti clip.
leighblack: (Nigel - Sure Looks Nice)
I watched this hours and hours ago, but these ) are still giving me serious giggles. I'm sure my neighbors were wondering just what made me crack up (which then turned into several huge coughing fits) at midnight, but I'm sure I can be forgiven.

Zigmund: "What makes you think I'm gay?"
Elliott: "Well, the clothes. The manners. The gay cape."

Ziggy to Nina: "I'm not gay! I'm British!" *g*

Oh, and if you couldn't tell, Just Shoot Me caps are up.
leighblack: (Chad - Fangirl Love)
Since yesterday's post was whiny, today's post will be about (mostly) positive things.

Reasons for Leigh to be happy:
- It's Friday
- It's a three-day weekend
- The new Katie Maxwell (aka [livejournal.com profile] katiemacalister) book was delivered to me yesterday
- My appetite seems to have finally returned
- Steve Valentine's Just Shoot Me episode is on tonight
- The trailer for the Rent movie should be popping up this weekend
- I'm meeting [livejournal.com profile] seimaisin tomorrow for the first time
- Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dazeebean, I'm going to see Crash on Sunday
- Even more thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dazeebean, I'm getting a massage after the movie
- I have a whopping huge two-day work week next week
- I'll be in LA in six days
- I get to see [livejournal.com profile] vampirecarly, [livejournal.com profile] missvn and [livejournal.com profile] wonderfungus next week
- I have enough $$ right now to cover my rent, and that's before I get my paycheck next week, so I'll have plenty of moolah to splurge with in la-la land
- I can actually go shopping this weekend for a new skirt to wear on my trip
- I get to see my Chaddy and my Faster Pussycat babies in 8 days
- I also get to dance & sing like it's 1993 to Blackboard Jungle in 8 days

And, perhaps not so happy for me, but maybe entertaining for you:
I've been letting my go rather au natural, except for the highlights [livejournal.com profile] taylorea put in a while ago. While I like the riotous mess of colors that my hair now has, I'm not so fond of the six gray hairs I plucked out the other night. And those were just from the top of my head! Who knows what's trapped inside that mess?!? *pouts*
leighblack: (Rent Movie - Causin a Commotion)
I’ve decided that maybe I should write some sort of ginormous post about myself. Not so much because of or in response to She Who Has No Grip on Reality and her highly amusing assumptions about me, but more because there’s a lot of new people around here. *waves hello* Even though it’s my journal, I don’t really write all that much about myself in here and maybe some of you want to learn more about me.

Clicky, clicky )
Or maybe you don’t want to know more. I don’t blame you if you didn’t read all that babble. But thanks if you did!

And if there’s anything else you want to know, or have any questions for me, let me know! I’m open to pretty much anything.
leighblack: (Steve - omg!)
I love you tvguide.com!! *hugs*

Steve's episode of Just Shoot Me is going to be on one of our local stations on Friday night. Yay!! I was thinking of getting the hell out of here for the weekend, but now maybe I won't leave until Sat morning. The traffic will be better then anyways.
leighblack: (Jordan - Save Me)
Today's scarf is infinitely better than yesterday's ascot.

giggle )

With that, I'm just about outta here for the weekend. I'm pretty much packed & ready, so I don't have much to do in the morning. We have more snacks than we'll be able to eat in a week. Yay for junk food!

[livejournal.com profile] duckduck might be nice and let me use her 'puter while we're gone, otherwise I'll be back on Sunday. But you can always email me at my yahoo email, which I obsessively read on my phone.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
leighblack: (Nigel - Lost Your Faith)
I've now seen "Forget Me Not" five times. It's not a sickness, I swear. I'm okay during most of it, but as soon as he says "I blamed myself!" I completely lose it. It's just...yeah...powerful. Why doesn't this man have a big, gold award yet?

I was so not paying attention to L&O since I was working on something. But then I heard the judge (the one who reclused himself) yelling at McCoy and had to look at the TV since he sounded really familiar. Yep. It was Michael Mulheren from The Boy From Oz.

I cannot stop my screencapping addiction.
snicker )
leighblack: (Steve - Take it Like a Man)
I used to have cool, fun things scribled all over my calendar. Birthdays, upcoming concerts, road trips, etc. Now it's filled with listings of which CJ episodes are on when, and other Steve-related appearances. However, this week's notation of "Don't forget Diagnosis: Murder!!" is a new low.

Dick Van Dyke...sheesh...the things I do for obsession

I really, really, really want this day to end. And for my headache to go away. *pleads*
leighblack: (Nigel - Irresistable)
As much as I hated (HATED!) the Soccer Mom, I loved, loved, loved, LOVED tonight's CJ!!!!! It fucking rocked!!! Storyline was great, Steve was FUCKING AMAZING, just love all around.

And a nekked Joel Gray! *giggle*

Poor Nigel. I bet that threesome with Bug & Jordan might help him cheer up though. =)

I have Red Bull & I'm ready to screencap!
leighblack: (Nigel - Can't Help Myself)
This is a little treat only for you guys right now. I haven't posted it on crossingnigel.com yet because I still need to fix the colors and the text and stuff. But it's still playable!

Steve Valentine Mah Jongg

Here's the directions in case you've never played )

The unmatched tiles are 4 shiny ones from Steve's Dressed to Kill appearance, and 4 with that stupid bandana on his head from Dharma & Greg.

Enjoy!

Ummmmmm...

Random thought for the evening: After some thorough investigation, Dev, the correct answer seems to be to the right.

;)

Off to stare at the TV...
leighblack: (Steve - Flexible)
Answer: Things that recede
Steve's Clue: My Hairline

Bwahahahahaha!! I laughed so hard I think may have hurt myself.

He also did the cabbage patch at the beginning of the show, which made me giggle hysterically. Good times!

Steve week continues tomorrow as our local ABC affiliate will be showing his Dharma & Greg episode. Yipee!
leighblack: (Nigel - Pure Man)
I have a couple observations of Steve Valentine.

- He is very touchy-feely. He cannot keep his hands off the contestants. Me likey that.
- He does that Nigel "nervous-brushing-back-the-hair" thing in real life. It's cute.

Oh, and Donny Osmond blows the big one. I can't believe I have to sit through two more days of him. :\ I'll have caps from the show up later tonight. Okay, maybe tomorrow.

Caps from Sanctuary are up!
leighblack: (Nigel - Lashes to Ashes)
1. Blasphemy I know...but what one actor do you think could have pulled off the Character of Nigel almost as well as Steve Valentine? Hmmmmmm...perhaps Steve Buscemi. For I love him, and he would be entertaining. The downside is that he would add a creepy factor to Nigel that Steve doesn't have, but that might not be so bad.

2. You are on a deserted island. What five objects would you just have to have to survive and why? A solar powered iPod with all my favorites, my dog Riley, a big bottle of Advil, an even bigger tube of sunscreen, and a Swiss-Army knife. Eh, I never know how to answer that.

3. If you were to create a Tarot Deck with the different characters of Crossing Jordan, what card would Nigel be? Ummmmmm...I don't dabble in Tarot much, although I have several decks. *goes to get Tarot book* Perhaps The Magician.

4. Boxer's or Briefs? (Nigel of course) and a follow-up, should you be brave enough to answer Is he a righty or a lefty. (if you have to ask, you don't have to answer that one.) Can I go with boxer briefs? I love them! Or boxers will work I suppose. Eh, not that I ever look, *looks innocent* but it's really hard to tell if the correct answer is right or left because he's always wearing such loose pants! *grumble* I like to think though, it's because he needs the room. =) I will go with left though, if I have to make a choice.

Oh, and no, obviously I don't need to ask what righty or lefty means. In fact, my partner in crime [livejournal.com profile] vampirecarly & I often play the "does he dress to the right or the left" game while we're in the front row watching bands. We'll peer intently at the male in question, then point fingers in the direction we believe is correct. We feel bad for the ones we can't figure out.

5.What is your favorite beverage? My favorite alcoholic drink is Red Bull & Vox vodka, but since I can't drink those at work, you'll usually find me with a Vanilla Coke.
