The first episode of James Gunn's PG Porn (starring Nathan Fillion!) is up on spike.com!

I can't hear the audio at work, so tell me if it's funny, eh?

yay!

Quick! Watch it before the entire internet crashes!!

ETA: OMGOMGOMGOMG!! I think I've found a new text message alert! How many icons of 'The hammer is my penis' will there be by the time I wake up in the morning? ;)

Argh. I have lots to say and no time to say it.

- Butch Walker lost everything he owns in the Malibu fire. Including ALL of his masters, recording equipment, instruments, documents, photos...everything. It's completely heartbreaking.

- They brought in someone to do chair massages at work today and now I have NO desire to do anything but melt into my desk.

- I had to go to two different places to get a copy of Waitress last night. Good because it's awesome that it'll make some more money. Bad because I had to drive somewhere else.

- I cut my hair a week ago. No one said a thing about it at work until three different people told me today that it was adorable. Delayed reaction much?

- I found a treasure trove of Cobra Starship and FOB icons today! Including a whole set from the video of the hole in the wall incident. *snicker*

- We have achieved Cobra Starship tickets! I can't even describe how excited I am about this. It's going to be hard to wait two months for the show!

- I figured out last night that I apparently I'm on a ten year cycle when it comes to watching wrestling. I first got into it when I was 11 or so. Then lost interest after a couple years. I got back into it at 21 and that time I was sucked in for several years. Now I'm 31 and I have a feeling I'll be watching it regularly again. Odd.
leighblack: (Waitress - Congrats!)
Mini Concert Review:
Valencia - They were okay. Nothing amazingly special but not offensively bad either.
The Audition - These guys are secretly a hair band from 1989. Awesome! I liked their set alot!
All Time Low - Hmmmm. I liked the music. But their stage banter was questionable for the age of the audience members.
Boys Like Girls - These guys have come SO far from when we saw them open for Butch Walker last summer. They had that whole auditorium whipped into a squealing frenzy! It was a blast! And I got a guitar pick to add to my collection.

But seriously? Whoever scheduled the show in a place with seats needs to be fired. Ridiculous!

Dear internet pirates,

I fucking LOVE you right now!

With much adoration, me
leighblack: (The Office - Jim Face)
[livejournal.com profile] seimaisin posted that icon meme and she gave me seven of my icons to explain. I would repost the meme for you guys, but I really don't have time to go through a pick out icons for you guys. Sorry. I'm lame.

Also, I did not make all of these icons, but I'm too lazy to look up who did make them. All the info is in my icon list, if you're so inclined!

(I made this one)
Jordan & Macy from Crossing Jordan. I use this when someone needs a hug. Also, Sarah McLachlan's "Hold On" was playing in this scene and I thought it was cool to match the icon to the music. I have no idea why.

(I did not make this one)
Well, hellooooo there, Nathan Fillion! This is from Two Guys and a Girl. Johnny's death trap dream house burned down and he was really excited because then he'd get the insurance money.

(I made this one)
Oh, Rock of Love. I miss you dearly already! This is the ditzy Brandi C as she was making friends with Kristia on the very first night. I believe there was booze involved.

(I did not make this one)
Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert presented an Emmy award and Ricky Gervais won. But since he wasn't there, they decided to give the award to their friend and fellow nominee Steve Carell. Steve ran onto the stage and there was much rejoicing. It was the best part of the show.

(I made this one)
It's a spoiler alert if you're a fan of The Office but you've been unconscious for the past three weeks. Jim and Pam are now dating. This was from the scene where they finally admitted it. I'm not really a Jam fan, but they were so adorable that I couldn't resist making an icon.

(I did not make this one)
And hello again, Nathan Fillion. This is from the DVD extras from Slither. There's a hilarious reel about Nathan getting into the character of Bill Pardy. Trust me, if you've seen it then this icon is pretty funny.

(I made this one)
Jim decided to dress up as Dwight as the opening for an episode of The Office. He's playing with his calculator watch here. The icon that I used for this post is Dwight's rebuttal as he dressed up like Jim.

Also...Desperate Housewives writers and directors? You have one of the sexiest men alive on your show now. WHY HAS HE NOT BEEN SHIRTLESS YET?!? Gabby spilled wine on him and he didn't take his shirt off to clean up? Ridiculous! =/
leighblack: (ILNY2 - New York vs. Midget Mac)
Oh my gosh, you guys! I totally forgot to watch Desperate Housewives last night! =/ What kind of fan girl am I? Thank goodness for those ever-reliable internet tubes and their pirated TV shows.

How did this week get so damn busy?
Monday - going out with Big Daddy just canceled! boo - looks like I'll be working for a sick coworker
Tuesday - Hallmark joy
Wednesday - Josh Ritter show at the Cedar!
Thursday - I have a free evening!
Friday - 612 party
Saturday - 9 hour Hallmark shift
Sunday - 6 hour Hallmark shift

My whole "I'm going to read 2 books a week" plan has been severly derailed since I don't seem to have any free time anymore. When I am at home, I'm working on like ten things.

Also, my plan to see L.A. Guns in Fargo on Nov 3rd might have to be changed since that's the Ornament Open House. I'm not sure I'll be able to get time off. I suppose if I got an early shift on Sat, I could make it up there after that. I'll have to see what I can do.

Tonight, I'll be learning how to create torrents. I need to bump my OiNK ratio up and the easiest way to do it is to create & seed new torrents. It's a new adventure!

Note to self: write up the Orgy post!
leighblack: (Slither - I'm Bill Pardy)
So we went to see 3:10 to Yuma and it was a touching love story and also very hi-larious. Of course, this all may have been because we were the only ones in the theater and there was snarking going on. ;)

Poor Alan Tudyk. Had the great lines. Didn't have a good ending. Sound familiar?

THE FUNNIEST PART OF THE WHOLE THING??
You know at the end, during the credits? When the lead actors have assistants and drivers and makeup people? And they're credited as "Assistant to Famous Actor Dude"? Well, Christian Bale and Peter Fonda's people were credited as that. But Russell Crowe's people were credited as his CHARACTER'S NAME. Yes, "Driver to Ben Wade." WTF?? Is he so method that everyone MUST call him by his character's name? So confusing, yet entirely hilarious.

Also? There was an apostrophe mishap in the credit's. Don't they have people's to check that kind of thing?

Also also? Let it be written in pen upon your calendars. Saturday October 27th. Midnight showing of Slither at the Uptown Theater. Oh yes! We will be there! You should be too!

Dear Borders,
Stop taunting me with your "all CDs are 11.99" coupon! You're not playing fair!
No love, me

Nathan Fillion on Ellen 10.04.07 (mpg/65MB)

In case you didn't get to see it. Or need to obsessively watch it over and over again.

Uhhhhh...not that I would do anything like that. =/
leighblack: (Slither - Big Grin)
Nathan Fillion will be appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show this week! On Thursday 10/04, to be exact. Get those Tivos ready!

Tonight is the season premiere of Desperate Housewives. I'm still not happy about having to watch it, but the pull of Nathan Fillion is strong. I even joined a DH website in order to find photos. I feel so dirty.

[livejournal.com profile] lafemmezilla asked for the photos, so I uploaded a folder of them here - including some super high-res ones.

leighblack: (TW - Flirtin With UR Copz)
Can you tell I'm avoiding work today? More interests, this time chosen by [livejournal.com profile] soyouthink! Who misread "seven" as "ten." It's okay though. =)

Captain Jack Harkness
Ahhhh, yes. Captain Jack! No, not that Captain Jack. This Captain Jack. He's the leader of Torchwood - Cardiff on the Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood. He's quite yummy! And not particularly picky on who he sexes up.

it's just a ride
I explained this one for [livejournal.com profile] f_o_n_y here.

Kasey Chambers
She's an Australian country/bluegrass singer and I rather adore her. "More Than Ordinary" is one of my favorite songs ever.

Marvelous 3
You may have heard me talk about that Butch Walker guy one or two or a thousand times. He was in the Marvie 3 and they were awesome!

Rant in E-Minor
I explained this one for [livejournal.com profile] seimaisin here.

rayne
Ummmm, so there was this show called Firefly. And I'm kind of obsessed about it. And I kind of read Firefly fanfic alot. Rayne is fic featuring the pairing of River and Jayne.

stalking rock stars
It's what I do best! What's more fun than road tripping to the middle of nowhere with some of your best friends to see your favorite band play in a dinky club?? Or flying to the other side of the country so you can catch a special show?

Stimulator
My friend Chad is in this band. (or was in this band, as I think they've kind of given up) They're lots of fun and I had my drunkest time ever when I went to see them open for Duran Duran in Nashville.

Waitress
A rather adorable movie starring Nathan Fillion and Keri Russell. I saw it four times in the theater. The DVD comes out next month!

Xristian Simon
Faster Pussycat's cranky and slightly homicidal guitar player.
leighblack: (Rock of Love - Brandi "Yeeech!")
My brain is playing that God awful Fergie song on repeat. "and I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket..." MAKE IT STOP!!! I'm now regretting that I made that my ringtone as a joke.

*switches ringtone back to Doctor Who theme*

I used a different hair color than I usually use because it was cheap and I'm broke. And my hair still smells. This is after I washed it last night, used a deep conditioner overnight, washed my hair again this morning and used my pretty smelling conditioner from Bath & Body Works. Ugh. I'm sitting here with a cloud of smelly hair dye surrounding my head. =/ But my hair looks nice and the one section of hair that has ultra-dry ends seems to be much better. So I guess I'll deal with my hair reeking.

Last night I realized that there is soon to be a horrible tragedy in my life. The Rock of Love final episode and the Desperate Housewives premiere are going to be on the SAME NIGHT at the SAME TIME. o_O And when VH1 has a big final episode like that, they don't show it in the morning like they normally show the other episodes. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?? Poor Nathan Fillion. He's obviously going to be recorded for later viewing, because OHMYGOD I HAVE TO SEE the Rock of Love ending as soon as it's on. But I feel kind of wrong in picking Bret over Nathan.

Listening to Matt Wertz right after Lewis Black is kind of jarring.
leighblack: (Firefly - Cowboy)
Okay, so I'm near the end of Serenity and they're talking about the long bus ride out to the place where they shot the funeral scene. (err...sorry if that's spoilery, but it's been two years) And they're talking about how they sang songs on the bus. And played some little electronic game. Oh yes! Catch Phrase! The cast of Serenity was playing Catch Phrase! (as Nathan put it: "We played Catch Phrase like crazy.") Seriously, I got really excited about that.

And truly, I am obvs suffering from sleep deprivation.
leighblack: (Firefly - Public Relations)
Don't forget that tonight is the Team Boobylicious Silent Auction! You can also bid online until 4pm today, if you can't make it. But you really want to make it down to Hubert's to see [livejournal.com profile] soyouthink shave her head, don't you??

Other things upcoming that I plan to be at:
Aug 27 - "Weird Al" Yankovic at the State Fair (my birthday outing!)
Sep 01 - Houston Calls at The Triple Rock
Sep 07 - Cowboy Mouth at the Fine Line
Sep 11 - Jon McLaughlin/Sara Bareilles at the Varsity Theater
Oct 05 - Matt Nathanson at the Fine Line
Oct 06 - Shooter Jennings at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake IA
Oct 11 - Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers at the Varsity Theater
Oct 17 - Josh Ritter at the Cedar Cultural Center
Oct 26 - Shooter Jennings at The Cabooze
Nov 24 - Motion City Soundtrack at Myth

Anything else coming up that I should be at? This summer kinda sucked for concert action, so it's good that late summer/fall has a lot going on.

Also, I know I've told some people about this, but I should probably make an actual announcement. Since not everyone can make it to the Weird Al show, I'm having an actual birthday party too. Not on my bday since some people will be out of town. It'll be on Sun Sept 9th at my parents house, so we can utilize their spiffy new backyard patio area. I'll be making tons of Lebanese food! All the locals are invited! (well, the out of towners are invited too, but I don't think anyone would come up here) Just let me know if you're coming so I can plan the food accordingly. Don't worry, I'll post another reminder closer to the actual day. I know it's still a few weeks away and how can you be expected to remember this far in advance??

Tomorrow is Nathan Fillion's return to One Life to Live! I'm way more excited about this than I should be. Also, he just signed on for some indie movie. And, of course, the Collector's Edition DVD of Serenity comes out on Tues! These things almost make up for his upcoming stint on Desperate Housewives. Almost.

Dear Gus, this Lifehouse CD sucks! I do believe I'll be bahleeting it when I get home.
leighblack: (Drive - Bitch Plz)
Have I mentioned lately that FOX fucking sucks? Because they do.

The last two episodes of Drive finally got posted online today. (Yes, I already have icons. Shut up.) I can't believe they're going to leave it like that! It's so not right. Not right at all! Jerk wads.

The best thing to do when your wrist aches? Make icons, of course. But watching Nathan Fillion kind of makes everything better for a little while.

Ugh.

leighblack: (Nathan - Shit)
Nathan Fillion in talks to join Desperate Housewives. Really? Really?!? That...is a horrible idea. Stick to movies, Nathan. Please. Or at least go back to Lost. I can almost watch that show. DH, not so much.

But he is supposed to be for sure returning to One Life to Live on August 17th. Now, that I'll watch.

Oh, and if you didn't hear, FOX moved the last two episodes of Drive to July 13th, instead of tomorrow night. Which is the bigger kiss of death: the 4th of July or a Friday night in the summer? Hard to tell.

Ha ha. Can you tell Riley woke me up super early and now I'm bored?
leighblack: (Two Guys - Happy Dance)
There's a rumor going round than Nathan Fillion is returning to One Life to Live for one day. *g* For some reason, this makes me very very happy.

My mom borrowed my copy of Dead Man's Chest this weekend so she could watch it as a refresher. She mentioned to me that she hadn't noticed before that Elizabeth handcuffed Jack to the ship so the Kraken could get him. How the hell do you miss that?? It's kind of important! I worry.

I can't believe it's only Thursday. Why isn't this week over yet??
leighblack: (Firefly - Love at First Sight)
Yesterday, I didn't have any plans for this weekend. Now I'm busy every night! I love how my life works. =)

Anyhow, movie plans are as follows:
Sat night: Waitress at Showplace in IGH. Movie is at 8pm, so meet at the theater around 7:45.
Sun night: Ocean's Thirteen also at Showplace. Movie is at 7pm, so meet at the theater around 6:45.
Everyone is invited to join us, of course!

And no, I'm not just picking Showplace since it's 5 mins from my house. It's centrally located for everyone who would be attending the movies. Really. I swear.

Also, when I've been bored lately and it's not Caturday, I'm usually found reading Firefly fic/slash.

leighblack: (Slither - Big Grin)
James Gunn - director of Slither and husband of Jenna Fischer - posted some fantastically awesome photos of Nathan Fillion from the Saturn Awards on his MySpace blog!

I don't think I could possibly want to be at work any less than I do right now. =(
leighblack: (Two Guys - Oh Noez!!1!)
This weekend was rather quiet, which was fine. Of course, I was still busy.

I went to see Waitress on both Saturday and Monday. I couldn't possibly be more infatuated with Nathan Fillion at this moment. If only I could figure out a way to trigger an "accidental" meeting while I'm out in Cali! I also watched another NF movie, White Noise 2: The Light. It wasn't as bad as it would seem to be. It was at least watchable. And they stuck in a Captain Tightpants line for no reason. =) But he had a serious lack of scenes without his shirt. Only one!

Actually, the big thing from that movie is that I figured out how to go from an .avi file to an actual playable DVD all by myself. I was pretty proud of me!

I worked on Fri, Sat & Sun and the less said about that the better. I'm worried that I'm reaching the Hallmark breaking point, because I'm finding it harder and harder to deal with crap from whiny customers. I even had to kick someone out of the store on Sat! Case in point: One of the little old ladies came up and asked if we had any Son & Daughter-in-Law 25th Anniversary cards. Honestly, what? Could you be a little more specific? Really, how many of those would we sell? So, no, we don't have them. How hard is it to write "To my Son and Daughter-in-Law" on a 25th anniv card? Or vice-versa? But you would have thought I kicked this old lady's puppy with how sad and dejected she looked when I said we didn't have that exact card. Some people just expect way too much. I'm glad we're going into our slow period because I think I need a break from this crap.

After my crappy day at work on Sunday, [livejournal.com profile] taylorea had asked if I'd drive with her to Andy's gig. Sure, no problem. I always enjoy some live music. She left out a few things. Like the fact that the bar was at the corner of No and Where. Somewhere between Hastings and Red Wing. In fact, we missed the turn off for the county road and ended up in Red Wing for a little while. She also failed to mention that this was a country gig. Or something. I still don't completely understand what was going on.

So, we finally get there. (There is the Cannon River Inn in Welch, if'n you need to know) And I am immediately amused by the fact that there is a change of clothing sitting on the ice machine in the front of the bar. In case you soil yourself? Or maybe somebody sleeps there and that's their closet? Not sure. Andy met us outside to say that he'd already played a set and now his friend Ramblin' Rod would be playing. Ramblin' Rod just got a karaoke machine and would be playing guitar and singing along to his karaoke tapes. Wait, what?? Oh, this sounds like a bad idea.

And it was.

Andy finally convined Rod to sing one of his own songs and blessedly the karaoke tapes were turned off for a song. But they came back. Bren was rather horrified by the whole thing. I was more annoyed. Rod took a break and Andy wanted to go up to do another set, but Rod wouldn't let him until after he played another set. *grrrrr* We finally went outside, since the music sounded much better through the wall. And it was nice out. At some point, one of the drunken folks came over and took the shirt from the pile of clothes on the ice machine. But left the pants. Odd. And someone drunkenly walked into the wall. Good times! Also, there was a crabby lady with a fanny pack. I'm always amused by fanny packs! Bren couldn't handle it anymore and we ended up leaving before Andy played again. He didn't seem too upset about it or anything.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] taylorea helpfully pointed out that I forgot the best part. She & Andy were going to treat me to a drink since I had driven to No and Where. I requested a Jack & Coke, thinking that was an easy order for a little shanty bar like that. But they didn't have any Jack. Let me repeat that: NO JACK DANIELS. =/ They just had beer, wine coolers or soda. But, the bartender had a buddy who was going to be bringing up some whiskey for them later on. And sure enough, one of the local hicks did indeed bring in a half-empty bottle of some knock-off whiskey shortly thereafter. Ewwwww. I wisely decided to stick with my can of soda.

Monday was my fuck off day. My first day off in almost four weeks that did not also involve dog watching! I spent most of the day doing nothing more than watching TV. (Oh, Law & Order: CI marathon, how I adore you!) I also colored my hair black and burgundy. Hopefully the burgunday will take this time. Last time I tried it, my hair was still dealing with the bleach & Manic Panic and all the burgundy washed right out. I'm more hopeful about it now.

And that leads me right up to today. It doesn't suck, but I'd rather not be here. I'm just holding on to the fact that I only have 11 hours left of work until Wed the 6th. (well, 15 if you include my Hallmark shift tomorrow) And 48 hours from now I'll be in Denver on my layover to Burbank. SO EXCITED!!!!
