I just know I'll be sitting here watching it at 3am tonight.
ANYHOW. The Parasol Painting Party was fun like whoa! I have photos. I'll try to post them tomorrow. I'm now armed with my parasol, Jayne hat and Reynolds/Washburne 2008 shirt, so I think I'm ready for tonight. Geeks ahoy! =)

Yeah, I fucking know that already. But I'm stuck serving you assholes so I won't get to enjoy any bit of it. Ugh. =/
Okay, I can't let my journal be all negative all the time. Something positive...Oh! I've already read seven books this month and am in the middle of two others. So that will be nine or possibly even ten books read this month. I'd say that's pretty good.

My Forecastfox toolbar keeps telling me that it's partly sunny, but all I've seen today is a constant blanket of dreary gray clouds. Boo. I did see the sun for about 30 seconds yesterday, which is more of a glimpse than I'd gotten in the past three days put together. Blah.
ETA: Wow. They weren't kidding when they said the new Rilo Kiley CD is a total departure from their normal stuff. =/ It's not bad, just weird.

Aug. 22nd, 2007 12:03 amOkay, so I'm near the end of Serenity and they're talking about the long bus ride out to the place where they shot the funeral scene. (err...sorry if that's spoilery, but it's been two years) And they're talking about how they sang songs on the bus. And played some little electronic game. Oh yes! Catch Phrase! The cast of Serenity was playing Catch Phrase! (as Nathan put it: "We played Catch Phrase like crazy.") Seriously, I got really excited about that.

I actually came home last night, but pretty much collapsed into a pile of goo after driving through hot muggy air with no air conditioning to my apartment which was hot as Hades. Happily, my T-shirt order arrived while I was gone! I'm now the proud owner of this sweet Jayne shirt and this River shirt. It took every fiber in my being not to wear one of them to work today.
Instead, I wore one of my other new purchases to work. There's a Steve & Barry's up in Brainerd and since I wanted to get away from my family but stay in the air conditioning yesterday, I went stopped by there for a while. I ended up really liking Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line. I ended up with four shirts and two pairs of capris for $62. Not bad! And it's all stuff I can wear to work and that I would actually wear myself. Even more amazing, not ONE thing I bought was black. o_O
Today the shopping continued, as I somehow managed to lose my tennis shoes at the cabin. I have no idea what happened to them. But I ended up with an adorable pair of skater shoes. And I bought a cute sun dress. Yes, I bought a sun dress. It's black. *g* Actually, it'll look great with my Inara sandals and I'll probably end up wearing it to work tomorrow.
Of course, a shopping trip isn't complete without a stop at Borders. More titles for my list of books I've bought in 2007:

And...that's about it, I guess. I am very much not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. =(

Should I be watching this Concert for Diana that everyone's talking about? It's pretty nice outside. I feel like I should be out there instead.
I just wanted to mention that MN Firefly posted a bunch of photos from Can't Stop the Serenity on the MySpace blog. Our group is in some of them! And they got some of the other great costumes too.

Oh my gosh! Can't Stop the Serenity was made of win!! (well, except not starting on time, but we'll forgive that) It was super fun to be in a theater full of believers. There was much cheering and hollering! And quite a few people dressed up!
Guys? We had a gang of 14 people. 14! I'm so proud of us! We didn't even fit in a whole row of seats. And two people in our gang won raffle prizes! I will certainly have photos and a better wrap up tomorrow. Right now I need to sleeeeeep because I'm stuck working in eight hours. Boo.

seimaisin and I became real Minnesotans and went to our first ever St. Paul Saints baseball game. Outside. Where baseball should be played. There were awesome things, like Super Fan leading us in riding a rollercoaster. And free cookies! And cheap booze! There were weird things, like being molested by a pig in a hula skirt and hearing the "Chicken Dance" about 50 times in a row. And there were bad things, like the pasty old guy in the speedo sitting in the hot tub who was quite frightening, even from the other side of the stadium.All in all though, it was fantastic! We'll definitely go again!
Tomorrow is Serenity!!! *squee*

Jun. 8th, 2007 11:25 pmI spent the evening with my mother. We designed the invitations for my brother's graduation/goodbye party and then we went shopping. It just so happens that my brother's ex-girlfriend and his best friend are getting married tomorrow. (yes, it's weird - but they're okay with it all) They had the groom's dinner tonight and then a whole gaggle of very drunk boys showed up at my parent's house, hoping to find more booze and crash in their basement. My brother and Andy walked past me and booze was pretty much oozing out of their pores. *snicker* But it was nice to see Andy since I haven't seen him since last summer. It's hard to believe that he's getting married!

I managed to find a top that's perfect while we were out shopping. It totally looks like Inara's outfit in Dear Mrs. Reynolds. Now I just need a white/cream skirt and I'm all set. That should be easy!
Thank goodness the new Kelly Clarkson CD finally leaked today! I feel like I've been waiting for it forever! I don't know what people are griping about. I really like it!

FOX finally announced when they'll be showing the last two episodes of Drive. On July 4th. WTF is that?? I can positively guarantee that I will not be sitting inside watching TV that night. (well, unless maybe it's raining a lot) I'm still hoping against hope that they'll put the eps up early on iTunes.
Speaking of all things Fillion, I have two more new movies yet to watch this week. I'm trying to decide if I want to watch Water's Edge or White Noise 2 tonight. Neither one looks to be a real quality film. =/ Hell, White Noise 2 hasn't even gone to DVD in the US yet. (I got it from a kind soul who uploaded it from a UK DVD) So, it's not even a straight to DVD movie. Not a good sign. Oh, the things I do for obsession! Also, I have 3 seasons of Two Guys & Girl to get through yet.

Is this better or worse than when I watched too much Homicide a couple weeks ago and Munch kept wandering through my dreams, mostly just going off to the side to spout ramblings about nothing? I'm not sure.
