I gave in to the five things meme going around.
Comment to this post and I will give you five subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given. From

1. Hair bands
So, in 5th grade my favorite band in the world was The Monkees. Then I discovered Poison and my life pretty much changed forever. ;) They were my favorite band in the world until I discovered Skid Row, who were my favorite band until I found Faster Pussycat. I can remember sitting on the floor in the basement of my parents house, waiting with eager anticipation for the "I Remember You" video to premiere on MTV. And sneaking out of the house when I was 16 to see the Faster Pussycat/Blackboard Jungle show at the Mirage. I still love my hair bands. (I'd better, since I now have a Faster tattoo on my chest) I don't go to as many hair band shows as I did five years ago, but I did see Skid Row last year and they still rocked as hard as ever. =)
2. Chicago
The only place I could see myself living if I decided to leave Minnesota. I love visiting! There was a summer where I was in Chicago almost every other weekend. I have lots of friends there, I've seen lots of shows there and I don't even mind the traffic much. I'll be there in May for the Fall Out Boy show and in June for John Barrowman's TorchSong convention. Can't wait!
3. Lebanon
My mother's family is Lebanese. The whole family. I grew up going to a Lebanese Maronite Catholic church. Unfortunately, my grandpa didn't talk about the old country much before he passed away and my grandma never actually lived there, so I don't know much about Lebanon itself. I would like to visit there one day though. And I really would like to learn to speak Arabic. It's one of those goals I have.
4. Wicked
I don't even remember how I got into the
Wicked musical. It probably had something to do with Idina starring in it, since I love her. There is something about the show and the music and Elphaba specifically that I totally relate to and emphasize with. The first time I saw it live (in Chicago, actually) I was crying and shaking uncontrollably all during "Defy Gravity". No musical has meant so much to me since
RENT.
(a note, I do also love the book, but the musical is what really has my heart)
5. Curly hair
I have some intensely curly hair. When I was growing up, I had no idea how to take care of it and it was a frizzy, disgusting mess. I like to think I've moved on from that and learned a thing or two about what to do with my hair. It involves lots of conditioner and never using a comb or brush. I must be doing something right because people seem to have problems with resisting the urge to play with it.
