This is a little treat only for you guys right now. I haven't posted it on crossingnigel.com yet because I still need to fix the colors and the text and stuff. But it's still playable!

Steve Valentine Mah Jongg

There are 144 stacked picture tiles. Find a matching pair of tiles and click on each one; after you do, they will both disappear from the board. The object is to clear the board before the time runs out.

Sounds easy? Not so fast. There's a catch or two...

In order to make a matching pair of tiles disappear, each one of the them must have at least one free side; that is, they must have one side that is not touching any other tile. The top and the bottom do not matter. Only the sides are important. Find two matching tiles that both have a free side, and you can click them to make them disappear. Remember the tiles are stacked in a pyramid, so there are a lot of outer edge tiles to choose from. Look carefully.

The second catch -- there are eight tiles on the board (two sets of four) that have no exact match. Each set of four will have a common theme to give you hints that they belong together. Clicking any two tiles of the same unmatched set will make them disappear.

When there are no more matches to be made, simply stop the game. This version of the game will not prompt you with hints or tell you when there are no more matches to be made. It's all up to you!

The unmatched tiles are 4 shiny ones from Steve's Dressed to Kill appearance, and 4 with that stupid bandana on his head from Dharma & Greg.

Enjoy!

I completely understand. I should be in bed. Instead, I'm compelled to play. ;)

That is awesome. I showed Cassie, and we both admired it.

(She also said, "I bet that's secretly what her wallpaper looks like." Hehehe.)

Awesome work. I'll have to play it later. ;)

Thanks! Glad you like it.

And no, my wallpaper doesn't look like that. ;) That would be too busy for my weak eyes.

I think it'd give me seizures or something. Not to mention it's just so many Steves staring at you. So, so many Steves.

Mmmmmmm...so many Steves...

lol...no, I just have a normal looking Steve wallpaper. Nothing seizure-inducing.

But you do have a Steve wallpaper?

(Says me, who has half a dozen CSI wallpapers and once worked for hours to make a B/N wallpaper only to fail miserably.)

Of course I do! I got it from here:

My next project for CrossingNigel is to make up some wallpapers. I've just been lazy about it. Plus, I'm trying to give my wrist a rest for a few days and erasing background isn't going to help with that.

Yeah, giving your wrist a rest is probably a good plan. Though I do look forward to seeing what awesome wallpapers you come up with. ^_^

I so need to find more time to play with pictures and make myself some B/N wallpaper goodness. Sigh. There need to be more hours in the day!

Ugh. It's getting worse everyday. I've been having to drive with a brace on, because shifting gears is painful. And anytime I cheat and not wear a brace while on the 'puter, I pay for it dearly.

But I won't be stopped! Screencapping is now a necessary part of my diet!!

and soon wallpapers

Maybe you should try to get through the end of school and then worry about making wallpapery goodness. ;)

Yikes. Maybe you should visit a doctor. They might be able to, I don't know, give you drugs for it or something.

Yeah, at least finishing the school year sounds like a good plan. I should be doing homework right now, but honestly, I just don't want to. I've become so damned LAZY.

Oh no. I hate going to the doctor. I think I have some vicodin left. hmmmm...

Homework is overrated.

Self-medicating vicodin? Oh, good plan. :P

I had doctors, too, but it's sometimes a necessary evil. (Of course, I'm the girl who had chronic heartburn for all of last spring and wouldn't go to the doctor. Ever. So maybe I shouldn't talk.)

Homework sucks, but eh, it's almost completely done. I have to get a couple book reviews off the internet, yet. But other than that, I'm done.

(Of course, I'm getting observed tomorrow, but let's not talk about my fear of that. Okay? Okay.)

Glad you're enjoying it!

Mah Jongg is my usual time-killer at work. I have a Book Geek one I made (with all kinds of book covers) and there's a Hugh Jackman one and a Jai Rodriguez one out there. But Steve Mah Jongg is definitely the best!!

I know I won't be getting any work done today. I'll just be staring at the pretty.

I've got to admit, I'm more interested in the techie details... how did you make this? Is there a source Mah jongg program that you just swapped out the graphics for? Did you program the entire game? 'Cause as an author, I think it would be a way cool thing to do with book covers, and offer to readers. But I'd have no idea how to program a game.

Hmmmm...something like my very own Book Geek Mah Jongg (http://www.pussycult.homestead.com/BookGeek/index.html)?? =)

Heaven's no! I'm not smart enough to figure out how to program it on my own. I stole the coding from someone, switched out the graphics and changed the colors. Let me see if I can find it...Bingo! The files are at the bottom.
