Apr. 28th, 2005 10:34 amLast night,
duckduck,
auroram and myself traveled out to Bunker's on a school night. A girl at the bookstore's friend's boyfriend's band was playing. Holiday! Normally, that sounds like it would be a recipe for disaster. But no. They were really good!! I had a great time!
They had a trumpet(!), which seemed to be mainly so they could play "Ring of Fire."

They also played, besides their own stuff, Snoop Dogg, Ace of Base, Kelly Clarkson, The Buggles, and uhhh, other stuff. I know it sounds weird, but it was completely enjoyable!
From almost the moment we got there, the power of The Legend seemed to be working. ;) I think
auroram was a little mystified because she's never seen The Legend in action before. But the singer started talking to me from the stage right away and ended up singing to me quite a bit. What can I say? I have some sort of magical powers, I guess.
Because we are easily suggestible, and there was alcohol consumed, we all bought a copy of their CD. The guys in the band all came over to chat with us and mingle. I introduced
duckduck to the wonder that is the Jager Bomb, so we were pretty happy and giggly. The bass player is a major book geek and launched into a dissertation about how wonderful the B&N Bargain section is.
On the way home, we had a sing along in the car, featuring Kelly Clarkson and more 80's songs than you can shake a stick at. Good times!
They're playing around here like a bunch of times coming up, so I'm sure I'm going to see them again soon. (Like, say, Sat night) Wheeeee!

duckduck, who I hope doesn't mind that I posted this, because she looks adorable!

I, too, hate having to leave good times early. That will be my night at D&D tonight - I have to be functional for class tomorrow, or my prof will throw things. I'm sure of it.

Date: 2005-04-28 10:38 pm (UTC)Professor tantrums annoy me. I had one of my profs go APE on us earlier this term for not doing our reading. It was just like, "Wow. Are you tweleve?" And it's a shame, too, because I love her dearly.

Date: 2005-04-28 08:10 pm (UTC)I'm making a mix cd. Which Holiday song to include??
Dude, I think Party Love is about JAMIE!! But it doesn't fit with the mood of the rest of the cd. I need one that is REALLY bouncy!
You forgot to mention the ties. And the synchronized bouncing.

Ummmmmm...it's too bad that Mexico song is on the next CD. 'Cause that was bouncy!
*sigh* Synchronized bouncing!

Date: 2005-04-28 08:23 pm (UTC)Dude, I have to tell you something.
Chris Kirkpatrick has a fine ass. Hence it is referred to, in fandom, as the FKA.
Ooops. Sorry. My bad.
