Have you ever done something that you know is a bad idea, yet you do it anyways?

So, yesterday sucked here at the day job. I commented to a co-worker that I would have gotten more accomplished if I had just stayed in my car and driven in a circle all day, because I kept getting interrupted when I was trying to get anything done. Thankfully, today has been much better and I've even had a little leisure time. (Obviously, if I'm writting this)

I was working on a list of people to set up with access to our web tool, and came across someone with the last name of Cornett. This made me a little nostalgic, as I have an ex with the same last name. So, I decided to google his name and see if I could find him. Not something I really ever do, but it was just my mood this morning. The search gave me back an address and phone number. Now, who knows if it's him?? It's not like there couldn't be more than one Bryan Cornett in NC. And what would I do with it anyways?? He could be married with kids for all I know. What am I going to do? Call and say "Hey, remember that girl in Minnesota that you wanted to marry and bring back to Wilkesboro?? Surprise!" Yeah, that's not going to work.

So, still feeling nostalgic, I decided to google The Loser's name, even though I knew it was a bad idea. The Loser would be the bad ex. I'm sure nearly everyone has one of those. In fact, let's not tell [livejournal.com profile] taylorea that I looked him up because I'm sure she'll hit me. Just last weekend she was telling me about how much she still hates him, even thought it's been four years since I walked out on him. I don't even hate him at this point.

Anyhow, so I looked him up and also got an address & phone number. Which definitely will NOT be put to use. But I also found a website, so I clicked on it and sure enough, it was him. It was some site for Ren Fest employees to post little bios and where they work at Fest. It also has photos, and Brian had a photo on his bio. And he's wearing the hat I bought him. I have no idea how old the photo is, but it totally gave me a shock to see it.

The backstory on the hat is that when I met him, he had this Raiders cap that he'd had for just about forever. He loved that hat and said he'd never give it up. He even wore it in some of the pictures from his wedding. That's hat dedication. His ex-wife couldn't get it from him, his ex-fiancee couldn't get it from him, and by the time he got to me, that hat was an ecological disaster. Ugh! It was so revolting and it became my mission to get it from him. It took a long, long time, but he finally gave me the hat and I bought him a cute bucket hat as a replacement. And there he was on this webpage, wearing my hat.

I started snooping around the site. I was pretty sure he wasn't doing Fest anymore, since all of his friends had quit or gotten kicked out. So, I clicked on the page for the Safety Services group, to see what I could find. Sure enough, his name was listed under the alumni part, not as part of the active group. Then I looked at the page again, and noticed that one of the directors was this guy I knew, Joe. I went to high school with him, and he was best friends with my first boyfriend. Knowing that Festers tend to drag in their friends, I start looking through the names again. Sure enough, also on the list of alumni is Don, the first ex. Also a situation gone bad, though not as bad as with The Loser. No bio page on Don, but I know it's him. So, here on this innocent looking web page, two of my exes are mentioned.

*cue up "It's a Small World After All"*

This is almost as bad as the day I found a site made by some old high school/college friends and after looking through it, realized that I had made out and/or slept with four of the people mentioned on it. Obviously, these pages should have some sort of "Leigh! Don't look here!!" warning on them.

In other ponderings, does anyone else become totally fixated on a certain song? And then you have to listen to it over and over again? I admit it, I'm totally hooked on Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway CD. (and if P.J. Farley from Trixter says her CD is good, then it's okay for me to like it) For some reason, I cannot stop listening to "Addicted" and "Where is Your Heart?" They're pretty much constantly on repeat.

Oh, and I know someone who is selling a 2-DVD set from the first Crue show in FL. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can give you the contact info. She didn't mention how much it was, but I think she sells DVDs for $25. She included a couple caps in the email and they look pretty good, so I suppose it depends on whether or not you want to pay.

P.J. Farley! Dear god, my best friend and I were talking about him the other week, wondering what the hell he was up to. Excellent! Hee.

Man, I hate it when the exes join forces. Your situation is way more random than mine though, which makes it even creepier. Wouldnt you love to know what notes they've compared? ;)

Would you mind forwarding me one of the video caps? I might be interested, depending. freetoafault @ yahoo dot com. Thanks.

Goddess, I hope they didn't compare notes. Hopefully, they never knew of their connection. It's scary to think that they might have.

I'll send you the email & caps!
