it's days like these that keep me on my winning streak

UGH. We had a great time at Can't Stop the Serenity/Dr. Horrible last night! But getting home at midnight and then trying to calm down to go to sleep is problematic when the alarm goes off at 5:15am. I got about 4 hours of sleep. Yay?

Good thing it doesn't matter much today, I guess. Today is our tenure awards/bowling party at work. I'm getting my ten year award today (yay?) and I've got my tiara all ready to wear. Then afterwards, we're going to see Star Trek for $3 at the Riverview Theater and our book group is meeting.

My purple hair clashes with the pink on my new Cobra shirt. This is rather unacceptable.

That sucker is definitely going on my iPod. Also, I can finally tell Ryan and Brendon apart! I think.

I did have to work today, but only for a couple hours and I was able to do it from home. I consider that a big win. Now I should actually be able to finish my Halloween costume today!

Tonight is Cinematic Titanic with seimaisin! You bet your ass I dug my Crow T Robot 'Bite Me' shirt out of storage to wear tonight. Actually, I might start wearing it to work too...

So today has actually been a good day. The first in a while! I have SO many things to tell you guys and no time to do it. So you get the short version for now.

- Riley went to the Vet today and she was surprised by how well he's doing. She's concerned about his weight loss, but it's not awful. And his liver is doing much better than she expected. And he can stop taking the pain pills. So she's not expecting to see him back until February, which is great! And she said that if his liver doesn't get too much worse, she wouldn't be surprised to see him hang around for another year or two. =) Amazing! She definitely said that there's no reason to think about putting him down yet. This makes me very very happy!

- The FedEx guy tried to deliver my Schrute Farm Beets shirt at 8:30am. Ummm, that's a little early? No one at the apartment office yet. =/ But I should have it tomorrow! (but where is my Shooter CD????)

- Work is crazy, but I'm not as behind as I thought I was. And I'm starting to catch on to some of the new stuff I'm doing! Hopefully that means I'll stop dreaming about spreadsheets soon.

- My Chris Jericho book came in! Can't wait to read it!!

There's more, but I want to stop and pick up the Cobra Starship CD before work so I have to go!

I added the photo of Sven & I to my desk this morning and realized I had a whole section of photos of me with gay boys. I'm not exactly sure what kind of statement that is.

My dad came into work last night to bring my birthday present to me and I asked him to bring my dog with 'cause I miss him. Riley walked in, looked around to find me, made me scratch his neck and then decided he was done with me and turned to walk out. All in about 90 seconds. Love you too, you little twerp.

My boss told me yesterday that I'd finally be getting rid of one of the parts of my job that I hate. Yay! Also, my old old boss is coming back to work here. Not totally surprising, but still strange. She'll be heading up a new division in the company. I wonder what kind of openings she'll have?

I really am getting a cold. I had to take DayQuil, my allergy pill, Advil and Afrin just to feel halfway okay this morning. This sucks.

I should be packing for the weekend. Instead, I am entranced by Boogaard beating the shit out of some Anaheim Ducks. Playoff hockey FTW!

I had to work at Hallmark tonight, for the first time in over a week. It actually wasn't that bad. The preview book for the ornaments came in and there are a bunch of them that I MUST have! There's an adorable one of Sleeping Beauty dancing with the owl dressed up as Prince Charming. And a new talking Wicked Witch ornament. And the Millennium Falcon. And Captain Jack Sparrow!

Also, I was kind of bummed that my brother's team would be playing up in St Cloud this weekend and I wouldn't be able to run up there because of Buuuuuuuutch stalking. But because the field isn't quite ready from the recent snowfall they moved the games from Sat & Sun to Sun & Mon. Since I have Monday off, I'll be able to see them play after all! This makes me pleased.

I've been coughing so hard all day that my stomach aches. Oh goodie. =/

Today I am giving myself a crash course in Great Big Sea before I see them on Saturday. That combined with this weekend's overdose of Gaelic Storm and...well, I don't think I've ever quite wanted a drink more than I do right now. Silly Irish folks and their awesome drinking songs!

I elect that we all get an extra day off for Daylight Savings weekend. This morning HURT.

I had my monthly meeting with my boss today. We spent about 5 minutes talking about work and 25 talking about going out to bars and my upcoming trips out of town. I take that as a sign that she's not too worried about my work performance. =) I also scored getting the whole week off for 4th of July. Sweet!

I remembered the 12 of 12 today, but my hair looks like shit. So don't expect too many photos of me.

Only 55 minutes left. I hope I can make it!

Boredom is leading me to make my PTO spreadsheet for next year. Because HR never seems to have our PTO balance correct, we all pretty much keep track on our own too. I'm currently accruing 23 days a year of PTO (seriously, that's 4 1/2 weeks of vacation!), but after my 8th anniversary in August, I'll be accruing 24 days. It works out to 23.36 days of PTO. Plus the 10 days I carried over. And 3 floating holidays. Yes, that's 36 days off for next year. =) And we can only carry over 5 days next year, so that's 31 days I have to take off next year. That's a little over six weeks off! How great is that?? Some fun bands better be going on tour because I'll be ready to road trip!

except for the fact that I'll be broke because I just bought a car, but there's ways around that

I was going to post something today about how I'm feeling all this unsubstantiated rage. For no reason at all, I seriously wanted to pop someone in the face at work today.

But then...

My boss came over and asked if I had a moment to meet with her. I was a little worried, but she just wanted to tell me that I've been doing a great job lately and that she appreciates all the extra work I've been doing. She and the Boss Lady had been talking and they decided that I should get promoted. So, I got a shiny new job title and a fairly significant raise this afternoon. =)

And I have tomorrow off! Go me!!
