As much as I complain about my family, I will say this. At least we care enough to all get together and stuff ourselves silly with delicious, delicious Lebanese food. And you know, spend time together. Skyping with my cousin, watching football, comparing scars - whatever.

Because Cole and I had to run down to the gas station when we ran out of ice and it was packed with people. Including a dad and his sons, buying a bunch of hot dogs. Gas station hot dogs for Christmas dinner. It made me really bummed. =( And really thankful for what I have.

It's really fantastic to have my brother home from Korea. And to talk wedding plans with my sister. And to finally see my youngest brother's girlfriend for the first time since they announced that they're having a baby. (it's a girl!) I definitely can't complain.

Merry Christmas, y'all.

Tonight was chaotic and hectic, but ultimately it was very nice. We don't do a lot of presents so it's more about getting our family all together. But my cousin's son did like the Minnesota Wild hoodie that I bought him. My brother (who lives in South Korea) is on vacation in the Philippines and he brought his laptop & webcam with him so he could Skype with us. All the little kids wanted to know how he got into the computer. =)

Sadly, it was a bad day for Riley. He threw up a couple times, didn't eat anything and then spent most of the day sleeping. He's really not doing very good. =( We really wanted him to get through Christmas but now we're going to have to talk about putting him down. You can tell that he's lost a lot more weight just in the last two weeks. He doesn't wag his tail anymore and...well...it's just getting to be time. It's hard, but I know it's right. I don't want my poor baby to suffer.

Anyhow...I don't want to think about that right now. I want to watch some Doctor Who! Download faaaaaaaster!!

I have today and tomorrow off from the day job and they did not call me once yet today. Hooray! I am scared to check my email, though. Unfortunately, I do have to work at Hallmark tonight. Which means that I'll miss the first airing of the I Love New York 2 finale. *grumble*

I finished my Christmas shopping today! Well, I do have to get a couple little gift cards yet, but that's not any hassle. I also have more junk food and supplies than will ever, ever be needed for our holiday party tomorrow night. And the Secret Project is washed and ready to be ironed before I wrap it up. Yay me!

My Mom made me go to Borders with her yesterday. (yeah, made me! that's the story I'm sticking with) So I have more books to add to my list of books I've bought in 2007:
#121 Swimming Without a Net - MaryJanice Davidson
#122 Her Secret Fantasy - Gaelen Foley
#123 For a Few Demons More - Kim Harrison
#124 Holy Smokes - Katie MacAlister
#125 Light Before Day - Christopher Rice
#126 My Boring-Ass Life - Kevin Smith
#127 Body Electric - Susan Squires
#128 One With the Shadows - Susan Squires (yes!! can't wait to start reading it!)
#129 Kitty and the Silver Bullet - Carrie Vaughn

Sheesh! Hopefully that's the end of the list for the year. We'll see. Next year I do believe I'll make a list of all the DVDs I purchase instead. 'Cause that's a pretty big list too.
leighblack: (T-Rex - oh boy!)
Two days with family down. One to go. I can handle that.

And no more pre-Christmas days at Hallmark.

I'm still stuffed full of prime rib. Tomorrow I'll be stuffed with Lebanese food. YAY!

Not much else to report, so here's some last.fm stats )

Even though you were in my parking spot when I got home, I still LOVE you because you delivered my Homicide: Life on the Street The Complete Series DVDs today! It's so pretty I could cry!

Love, me

What the hell am I going to do with all my previously purchased Homicide DVDs?

Ipod love

I want to be able to use my iPod as the soundtrack to our Christmas Eve gathering, so I went to Ye Olde Mart of Wals last night to look for speakers. They had this cheap one that fits right on top of the iPod so I bought it. I figured it would sound awful, but I was just looking for something cheap. But it actually sounds pretty good! I brought it to work today and have been regaling the 5 other people here with Christmas With the Chipmunks. It might be time to switch to The Hoff though.

Ummmm...should I be worried that they announced a complete restructure of our performace increases on the last day of work before Christmas? Isn't that when bad news gets announced so maybe people don't notice it? *worries*

I just wanted to stop in and thank everyone who has sent me a holiday card. Or will be sending me one. Or thought about it but decided it wasn't worth the effort. =) I don't really have the time to thank everyone individually, but I do certainly appreciate all of them. And all of you.

I think I forgot to mention it, but I'm here with the dogs for a few days so my time online will be fairly nil. They hate it when I'm on the 'puter and my parents computer sucks ass anyways. But I'll try my best.

I'll leave you with photos of Earl enjoying his new outfit )
leighblack: (T-Rex - Why am I here?)
This weekend in a nutshell:
* I finished my holiday cards. I just need to slap stamps on them and send them out.
* I got a new car!
* I helped my parents set up about 8000 illuminated snowmen in their front yard. (Thankfully, they refuse to buy the blow-up ones.) We still don't have any snow here though.
* I went to the Half-Ass Jack gig at Nick's on Sat night, instead of the L.A. Guns show. There was the usual crowd of scary, drunk old people. [livejournal.com profile] auroram had the bonus of one of them sneering at her for no actual reason.
* I cleaned out my old car yesterday. Even though many of you have seen how messy it was, it actually didn't take that long to clean out. I moved only a small amount of actual car-related things into my new car. Everything else either was taken into my apartment or tossed in the dumpster. I'm okay with getting rid of the CD player since it was pretty crappy, but I am thinking of ripping out the speakers from the doors since one of the speakers on the Aveo seems to be somewhat wonky. They should be the same size. The car is getting donated to Volunteers of America and I guess they're picking it up sometime next week.
* I was going to actually do laundry, then realized that I'll be dog sitting for five days beginning on Wed. Why would I pay to do laundry when I'll be able to do it for free later in the week? Duh.

That's about it, I guess. Not very exciting. I bought floor mats, a steering wheel cover and other misc stuff for the new car. And other things for me. I only have one more Xmess present to buy, so it's okay to buy some things for myself.

I only have three days of work this week! Score!

since everyone else is doing it...my xmas stocking )

Seriously. It's November 26th and it is raining outside. I took me a while to figure out what that tapping noise was.

[livejournal.com profile] christmasmusic is evil. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil!!!

I'm borrowing this photo from [livejournal.com profile] f_o_n_y. It's SO horrendous! I can't stop staring at it.

This is my last post for the day, I promise.
