12 of 12: August 2007 Edition

Ahoy! I actually remembered to do the 12 of 12 today! Well, it helped that I had something interesting going on. As a recap, the 12 of 12 is the brain child of Chad Darnell. People all over the world take 12 photos of their day and share them on Chad's blog.


8:57 am - soooooo early

I got up really, really early this morning. Okay, maybe it just felt really early since I was so exhausted from spending all of Saturday out in the hot sun.

10:33am - I'm so addicted!

I got up early so I'd have time to catch the early showing of Rock of Love before going to work. What can I say? It's keeping me very entertained this summer!

12:08pm - stuck at work

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the day off from work. But I finished my opening duties early enough that I was able to run over to Walgreens and buy some sweet green nail polish. And yes, I did my nails while at work. It was that kind of day.

5:57pm - FREEDOM!!

I finally got out of work and headed down to the Minnesota Irish Fair. (you may remember that I also did a 12 of 12 from the Irish Fair last year!) It's held every year on Harriet Island in St. Paul. My friends were already there and I met up with them in the Dubliner Irish Pub dance tent. seimaisin and auroram are there on the left.

6:10pm - there's just a couple people here

This is quite a large sea of people. But I think there were more people around on Saturday.

6:14pm - waiting...

6:24pm - YAY!

Gaelic Storm's set was cut short on Saturday night after about six songs because of a storm that blew through the area. So it was lovely to see that today's weather was gorgeous! This is Twigger & Pete.

6:26pm - and then there was dancing

There's always lots of dancing at the Irish Fair. These dancers joined Gaelic Storm for a song.

7:17pm - oh Patrick Murphy, how you amuse me

Patrick grabbed this hat off some guy in the crowd and wore it during "Me & The Moon."

7:36pm - are furry hats sexy?

This photo amuses me for some reason. Also, there's Ryan in the background!

7:47pm - this is kind of brave

Patrick decided to crowd surf. Thankfully, he didn't get dropped. And he didn't lose his hat!

7:59pm - post-concert bliss

seimaisin, me, lovika27 and auroram. I look a little stunned.

8:15pm - bonus photo!

The bonus photo word for this month is light. I took this pretty photo of the St. Paul skyline and it includes the lighted sign on top of the First National Bank building. I used to love watching that light as a child, as we could actually see it from my parents house even though it was miles away.

And I had a blast, even if it was the "one" day. I'll definitely be there next year, and probably all three days!

(*Oh and not that I'm going against my original statement of me not liking to be in pictures...I just don't like them when I look bad/fat, but if I look cute like the one from your May 12 of 12 well then all righty then, okay be me!)
