stitching update!

annayork asked about my newish cross-stitch project the other day, so I thought I'd post a little something about it. will I remember to make regular progress updates? I doubt it. but maybe.
after we walked through the creative arts building at the Minnesota State Fair last year, I was totally inspired to make something to submit to the Fair this year. and then my plans got totally waylaid when I made a blanket for my niece and did a ton of costuming for Con. but now I have free crafting time again and I picked this project back up with the intention of finishing before next year's Fair. *fingers crossed* there were so many cross-stitch projects at the Fair this year! I was really surprised to see so many. so I don't think I'd win anything, but I at least want to accomplish submitting a piece.

and heeeeere's the completely finished blanket! ALL DONE!! so happy about that. now I just need to box & wrap it for Sunday. I think I can handle that part.
since I'm done with this, I've been completely overdosing on reading fic this week. I think I deserve it. next week I plan on getting my iTunes whipped into shape. I do the most interesting things in the world, indeed.
speaking of interesting things, last Saturday we went to the Travie McCoy show, in which Black Cards was one of the opening bands. they happen to be Pete Wentz's new musical endeavor. kind of pop/dance/reggae. ngl, I kind of adore their music. and I had a good time dancing to their show! and then afterward, we hung out and got photos with Pete & Bebe.

so, fun night! I definitely want to see them again.
since I have this new fancy camera now, I'm going to do Project 365 again starting tomorrow. I think I'm going to post the photos via tumblr. I don't really want to use flickr or Facebook, so I guess tumblr is my best option. friend me there if you haven't already? I'm shelikeshairbands. it will be weird to have my blog be something besides photos of Chris Pine.
long time, no see

And I've been frantically working on a cross-stitch blanket to have it finished in time for the shower that we're throwing this Sunday. And I finished all the stitching last night!

All I have left to do is sew on the backing and fringe the edges. I love how it turned out and I think Shannon (the gf) will love it too. I hope so!
I kind of don't want to stitch anything ever again right now, so I guess I'm moving on to CONvergence costuming. I have some ideas. Even though I swore I wasn't going to sew anything.
