So. It was true all along. The foreshadowing was there for a reason. And loyal, brave, beautiful Ianto Jones is now dead.

I've known about it for a few hours and it really affected me at work. I felt like I was in a fog all afternoon. Actually watching it on the screen was almost anti-climatic. Although...Yes, I cried.

I haven't been so affected by a fandom in a long time. And this is why. I'm mourning the death of a fictional character. Gods...

At least the scene was poignant and lovely. And really, the episode was really good. Creepy and intense. But I may never be able to watch it again.

In closing, I'm going to be over here reading Star Trek porn for the rest of the night. Oh, and working on my P365 photos because I'm way behind again.

The episode was really good and I have to say, I actually really liked it, except for the fact that -- it just feels like another wasteful death. I mean, none of these characters (Tosh, Owen, now Ianto) have had to die.

And after they destroyed Donna, too, I'm sort of like.... Why? Really, that's my question. Why?

Except to make fans hate everything, maybe. I just... Yeah, why is a good question for it.

Oh, I really liked the episode too. The pacing and the story were all fantastic. And they should always have Euros Lyn as their director.

I don't know the why. Because they can, I guess.

I'm really liking the plot and indeed the series over all, which I think annoys me more that this has happened.

I think it would have been better development for the characters, especially Jack, to have Ianto live and see them navigate a relationship than to just kill Ianto like everyone else Jack has ever loved, but alas. What do I know?

I have a feeling this is meant to "shake things up", but just too far.

the episode was really good, this whole week so far has been, which is probably why I'm more sad than angry. I just wish I had a ton of work to do tomorrow because I really really need distracting right now. Being at home today sucked :(

and I really don't know where they would go for a season 4 after this. I imagine they'll pick up the new girl PA if she doesn't die, and keep Rhys? This plus the amount of time between seasons is the beginning of the end for me. I just need to find something else to latch onto (cause I'm always obsessive about *something*, it just can't be TW anymore)

It's going to be super difficult to not be all emo in front of wilowisp at work tomorrow, since he's waiting to watch it on BBCA. And duckduck is too and I'll see her on Sun. Ugh.

I don't know. I imagine RTD has some ideas about what he wants. I just don't know that the fans will stick around without Ianto and with such a HUGE length of time between seasons.

Considering how many times they've planned to kill Ianto, but suddenly changed their minds, I'm sure this was the grand plan, perhaps made sweeter to him because it was a character so many liked. I think seimaisin kind of hit that point with the whole Serenity thing as well (unexpected actions receive attention). It's hard to tell what the fans will do. I wish I could tell them writing in and petitions aren't really going to help- I think this is final, final business.

In my opinion, after this, they should stick to this type of mini-series event. I'm not sure how well it'll hold up to new characters on a weekly basis. Then again, going weekly would help rebuild the fan base because there's a lot of new fans this week they could start again with.

gorram shippers. They're the fundies of fandom. Just gotta ruin it for everyone else....

(ST avoided this because Kirk's a giant manwhore. SO any pairing can be canon. Jack is Kirk with LESS inhibitions, and the fandom closes up like a republican anus. WTF?)
