OMG! Headache!! Please, make it go away!

I really want to call in sick to work tonight, but there isn't really anyone to work for me. Sad. But I need to watch the ice skating!! Oh, and the new rumor swirling around Hallmark is that I might apply for the manager's position. To which I say: say what?!? The only slight advantage it has over my day job is that it's less than 10 mins from my place, so I'd save on gas money. Otherwise, the pay is shit, you get two whole sick days, 5 days of vacation, no health benefits and it's fucking retail. Oh yes, please. Sign me up. /sarcasm

Prince is playing a "secret show" on Sat night and I have no money. I'm still trying to figure out a way to go, as there were still tickets left the last time I checked. I guess I'm going to have to hold out hope that the summer tour rumors are true.

I'm pretty sure it's not in my job description to spend the day tagging artists/music over at last.fm, but that's what I've been doing anyways. It's an exciting life I lead.

My sis was so upset about missing the Prince show on Wed night that my mom took pity upon her and offered to buy tix to the show for her & the bf last night. I took care of finding them tix and they got great seats. I was seriously contemplating blowing my money and getting a ticket for myself too, but decided that being able to eat is a good thing. Only to hear on the radio this morning that Morris Day and the motherfuckin' Time showed up at the show! Dammit!! I called my sis and she confirmed that they were indeed there. I should have just went!! *cries*

Just got back from Prince. All my friends who wouldn't come with me should kick themselves! What a GREAT show!! My mom & I had a blast! I'm glad that I didn't read any reviews about the show, so I didn't really know what to expect.

There was a whole row of cute gay boys right in front of us. You know, me & gay boys = match made in heaven. So we were all chit chatty before and during the show. But bless them. Five cute gay boys and not one ounce of rhythm between them all. It was fun to watch them "getting down." However, they weren't anywhere near as bad as the wasted chick across the aisle. She should have been embarrassed, flopping all over like that!

Anyhow, we had fabulous seats. We could see the entire stage perfectly and weren't really too far or too close. I can't even begin to describe the show itself. What a showman! You could tell that he loved being at home in front of a PACKED arena. And the acoustic set!! *guh* "Raspberry Beret"...acoustic!! = perfection!! *dies*

*revives*

And he spoke Minnesotan! He said "You betcha!" Ack! *dies again*

The suck ass part about everything is that I tried to deny it, I tried to pretend that it was my allergies, but no. I'm sick. I could just feel myself getting sicker and sicker all day. I'm stuffed up, my throat is killing me and I'm pretty sure I have a fever. Yuck! That kinda put a damper on my enjoyment for the evening. I'm off to take some NyQuil and crash out for a few hours.

sigh...

Wy doesn't anyone want to go to see Prince with me tomorrow?? I've offered the extra ticket (which I paid $90 for, btw) to four different people, and no one wants to go. What's up with that? Prince rocks!

Even though I really had no intention of buying them, I bought two Prince tickets this morning. I was just going to see what I could pull up and decided that the seats were too good to pass up. 23rd row in the first tier, on the side of the stage (which is going to be in the round). $90 a piece though, and I can't really afford them. The first show already sold out. They instantly announced a second show, which is on its way to being sold out. So even if I decide not to go, I'll just sell the tickets. I'm sure I can get a good price for 'em. It is Prince though...

I went to see Taking Lives last night. Eh, it was okay. They were trying way, way, way to hard to make it like Seven, but it was nowhere near as good. It was painfully obvious who the serial killer was the moment he appeared on screen. It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but not that great either. We're finally going to see Secret Window on Wednesday & I can't wait!

I leave you with this lovely photo of myself and Jess from our friend Emily's baby shower yesterday.

We're pretty! )
