Embarrassing photos, day 2

leighblackIt seems that yesterday's photos of my horrible teen years were quite a hit. In fact, I emailed the link to Siri, one of the girls in the last photo, and got this response: "Holy crap! What were we thinking? Thanks for the laugh." So, I thought I'd bring you a few more photos. Because I have a zillion of them!
I was a HUGE Nelson fan. HUGE! I went to see them in concert not once, but twice, in 1991. Of course, I needed to have a snazzy outfit. *hangs head in shame*
Where to start?? At the top I suppose, with the hair. I don't know what's going on there. Why do I have bangs?? It's so wrong! My shirt is a sweatshirt that I turned inside out. In fact, it was a Lebanon sweatshirt, that I'm sure belonged to one of my relatives and was really very cool. Until I got to it. I wrote the witty phrase "Nelson roxx my world!!" across it, using pink & turquoise. Pink & turquoise?? *shudders* The jeans were stone-washed, if I remember correctly. I, of course, have them layered over black leggings, as the jeans have seen better days. On the right leg, the names of the band members are written. On the left leg, is a phrase that was written on their cassette booklet: "Music is to the soul what breath is to the body." There are also symbols that I also copied from the booklet. If you look carefully, I have also colored the FRINGE on my jeans. It's so wrong! The jeans are rolled & pinned, and bright red socks finish off the outfit.
As if the bangs weren't bad enough, I also have a bright red bow on a barrette in my hair. WTF?!? I had this faboo idea that I'd create a little paragraph on the back of my shirt using the titles of the songs from their album. The song titles are in purple and the added words are in turquoise. Oh, the horror! Here it is, just for you: "I Can Hardly Wait to Fill You Up with Bits and Pieces of my <3. After the Rain & clouds clear, we'll know It's Just Desire. But I know that I'll <3 you More Than Ever. But the question arises: Will You Love Me? I guess Only Time Will Tell. But you should know that Everywhere I Go, I Can't Live Without Your Love and Affection." It's all capped off by "I <3 Gunnar!!" Honestly, I did get out of the house once in a while. The back of the jeans have more colored fringe, and more symbols from the cassette booklet. Oh yeah, and Nelson written in large letters on my ass, with After the Rain written underneath. *hides head in sand*

And might as well include a pic of the actual Nelson twins. This is from an in-store they did in Sept of '90. It was my first day of high school. Matthew is on the left and Gunnar is on the right. Yes, I can still tell them apart.
