My birthday celebration, day 1

leighblackI just wanted to write a quick entry about my birthday before I go to bed. It was a lot of fun!!

wonderfungus (Chandler) out in the country, then went back into the cities for dinner at my parent's house.

My sister, Jennifer, and her boyfriend, Hans, were already there when we arrived. My family ate then, as they were hungry, but I waited until my friends arrived after work. In fact, my parents left for the camera soon after eating, leaving us to eat the fabulous dinner that my mom made for us! That pretty much rocked!!
Jennifer & Hans left soon after, leaving myself, Chander,taylorea (Bren), Andrew, dazeebean (Laura) and auroram (Jamie) to chow down on the food. It was SO good! There was also German Red Cake, which is my favorite. The conversation was lovely and people pitched in to clean up. I got a Hot Topic gift card from Bren & Andy, and Jamie gave me the best present. katiemacalister (writing as Katie Maxwell)'s The Taming of the Dru! YAY! I've been waiting for that book for so long!! I do believe I let out a very excited shriek when I opened it!
We decided to go down to the bowling alley by my place to play darts and drink a little. This took a lot of discussion to arrive at this decision.

I didn't get drunk, as I had to haul Chan's ass all the way home afterwards. But I was pleasantly happy. They had all kinds of hair bands on the jukebox! That was the best! I SO played Nelson, Enuff Z'Nuff, Warrant, RATT and many other lovely songs. I was dancing, and generally having a good time. I think everyone was enjoying themselves.
Darts was fun, although we all pretty much sucked. Jamie & I were Team Hugh, and we did win the last game. Our team sign was the hip thrust. Bren & Chandler were Team Whitesnake, and their sign was the Trump cobra. Andy & Laura were Team Viggo, but they didn't have a sign. Boo.

Afterwards, I took Chandler ALL the way back home, then came back and stayed up on the computer for a really long time. Who needs sleep?? All in all, it was a very nice night!
I want to thank everyone again for the wonderful birthday wishes! It was fun to look around on a bunch of different message boards and see threads dedicated to me, not to mention all the lj posts. *feels loved*
I'll be spending the weekend in Chicago withxiolablux, jawakimchee, missvn and rockerlee. It's "Buy me Shots" weekend. Can't wait!!
