Not yet. You just traded the exclusive negotiation rights which were set to expire tomorrow at noon anyway.

Yeah I was a little surprised at that news. Especially since just the other day one of the mucky-mucks at the Wild were talking about how they'd over pay Rolston if it meant he was going to stay because that's how important he is to the team.

I'm sure they have their reasons. I guess. It just doesn't make much sense.

Probably they weren't making as much progress with Rolston as they had hoped, so offered his rights around to get a draft pick/prospect. If he decided to not sign with the Wild it's better than being left empty handed tomorrow. Then if he does return, you get Rolston, plus whatever Tampa gave up to get his rights.
