Torchwood musings - Ep 2x09

First, I LOVED this episode! It was full of both batshit insanity and sweet tender stuff and it was pretty much perfect. Ashley Way is probably the best director they use, for realz.

Second, so aren't they going to have to have the wedding again? Don't you think Gwen & Rhys's families are going to be like "Wait! You got married?? Why don't I remember this?" And won't they want photos where they're not covered in black alien goo? And how the hell was Gwen's hair still perfect??

Third, why was there not a close-up of DJ!Ianto?? Because...*dreamy sigh*

Fourth, what the hell kind of friend suggests to the lonely single girl that she can always marry the dead guy? =/

Fifth, didn't that alien medical device look totally different in the other episode? Even the screen image was changed.

In conclusion, WIN! They kind of lost me with the last couple episodes, but this one brought all the love back. ♥

I don't know, I think in a way, Gwen's suggestion to Tosh was telling in that Gwen kind of sees that Tosh wants Owen. Though, yeah, the marrying the dead guy wasn't the world's best suggestion. (Though it says a lot, it really does, that Gwen a.) doesn't want Tosh there at the start, b.) didn't invite Tosh to be in the wedding at all, and c.) it almost seemed like Torchwood wasn't meant to be at the wedding in the first place. I wonder if she sort of...wasn't intending them to come.)

I think they'll probably do it again for real. I don't really know. All I know is, Rhys + chain saw = LOVE.

You know, I kept saying "Who ARE these people?" Gwen doesn't seem to have any friends. And now they're in her wedding party? And why wouldn't she have invited the Torchwood folks? Rhys knows them now, so it's not like they're top secret or anything. That part of it was odd.

But then there were scary monsters and everything was right again.

Yeah, that was very much my reaction. We know Rhys has his buddies as so that wasn't weird, but those two girls who were clearly supposed to be Gwen's BFFs have never been mentioned before. I'd chalk it up to her MUST KEEP TORCHWOOD AND REAL LIFE SEPARATE thing, but she doesn't ever leave the hub. So who knows?

Even if it was a plot device, it ended up well, so I can approve.

(I can't decide on my favorite moment. The "you ugly bitch" and Rhys's killer punch is close. But so much of it was SO GOOD.)

Hmmm. My favorite stuff was (in no real order) 1) DJ!Ianto 2)Jack wearing a waistcoat in the beginning, because I'm a total sucker for that thing (it makes an appearance next week too!) 3)Ianto getting Jack's gun out and then helping him with his coat 4)Rhys punching Jack 5)Any of the adorable Janto banter

This show is killing me with the adorable!
