Aug. 25th, 2007 01:51 pmSo, is there a switch somewhere hidden within the TARDIS that's marked "Head for Danger" and no one knows that it's been turned on? The Doctor can never just go someplace to enjoy the day and maybe have a spot of tea, but is instead always somewhere where aliens are about to attack or or time is about to get ripped open and this is the real reason why the TARDIS never lands where he expects it to be?

Plus the fallout from the Time War does mean that a lot of shit is in chaos. Both the Daleks and the Time Lords would have used weaponry that not only utilises the power of black holes (Which the Time Lords used to actually engineer for power sources) but also ones capable of wiping each other from time. Imagine a war being fought by two races across every single instance of time at once. One of whom is that technologically advanced, they're actually capable of protecting their home planet from the laws of thermodynamics (Entropy).
I'm not surprised the universe is a little fucked up after that.
