I always see it as 'lol' as a word, like lollipop, but then I tend to say it out loud when taking the mick out of people.

HA, lolz. Or Roffle gets said a lot, as in ROFL. And Laamo, as in LMAO. Yeah, me and my friends are silly. :]

Loll. Like, "hey, it's lollcats." I did experiment the other night and kept spelling it out, saying "l o l z," but it felt wrong. However, if I were to say it now I would say lollZ, with special emphasis on the Z, to differentiate it from an s.

Like only one other person so far, I have to say the words to myself when I read "LOL."

So for example, "And then I pulled a rabbit out of my hat--LOL!" reads to me like, "And then I pulled a rabbit out of my hat--laughing out loud!"

LOL means NOTHING to me on its own. Like, I can't connect the meaning with the phrase. Same with ROFL and LULZ and all the other ones. It's like my brain is physically incapable of committing them to memory or something. I'm weird about words.
