Mar. 31st, 2004 09:11 amThis has definitely been a week of major mood swings. It started out great on Sunday, hanging out with
taylorea watching movies & scrapbooking. I had high hopes for Monday, as it was getting closer to my trip to Chicago on Wed. Just when we started to finalize some plans, it all exploded.
Surfing around the boards on Monday afternoon, I saw the rumor that the Adler's Appetite shows in Chicago were cancelled, due to the excuse of a "band injury." After some scrambling, it become clear that yes, their Midwest shows were cancelled. Although, it's very weird, because it doesn't sound like the band members really knew anything about it until people started asking questions. That injury excuse sounds like bullshit to me. This is the 2nd set of US shows that have gotten fucked up for AA. They're pretty much killing off any interest that they might have had.
After thinking about it, I decided not to go Chicago after all. I'd love to see everyone, but it's nice to save the vacation days & the money. I'm still taking Friday off so I have a day to chill out & do laundry. What did I do with some of the money I won't be spending? a) Save it for the next road trip. b) Use it to buy food for my empty refridgerator. c) Spend $35 at Michael's on scrapbooking supplies. I think you know the correct answer.
Then yesterday, the Brides of Destruction announced a Chicago date on May 15th. A Saturday! Yay!! And there's a Detroit show the night before, so we'll probably hit that one too. A replacement road trip is always good therapy for a ruined road trip. :) Now if only they'd announce a Minneapolis date for the night after...
Today has just been odd so far. I feel like I should have been up running around & trying to pack this morning. Instead, I'm goofing off at my desk. I do have this weekend's festivities to look forward to, that being my brother's baseball games. His college team is playing about an hour from here, so I'll actually be able to make it to the games. Yay! The weather is supposed to be nice too. Double yay!
Odd little tidbits from the week...
I really do have a sickness. I was at work on Monday night. I was standing in the middle of the store, and looked over to the magazine rack on the wall. From all that distance, I could tell that there was a new magazine with Hugh Jackman on the cover. I need help!
I was talking to the new chick at work last night. She's good news, as she listens to rock music and seems to be a little more "with it" than most of the suburban fluff. We seem to attract good people to our store! Anyhow, we were talking last night & it turns out she has a lj. She was all nervous about me reading it, but I can't figure out why. I'm enjoying her sparkly dance boy obsession. :) Welcome
duckduck!
That's about it. I'm sure I'll go back to icon making, since I'll have some free time now this week. If anyone needs anything done, let me know.
jawakimchee, I have a couple new ideas for you. I'll send them along.

Date: 2004-03-31 08:57 am (UTC)And I love the image of spotting the Hugh Jackman magazine across the store. Did you run to it? I might have, if I wasn't wearing my name tag. Well, not Hugh. But you know.
Embrace the sickness!

Date: 2004-03-31 09:19 am (UTC)I didn't run to the magazine, but I did a little dance when I saw it. Honestly, I was standing over in Education when I saw it. I'm a geek.
