I'm trying to cut back on the caffeine again. I did a really good job with it several months ago, but slipped into old habits once summer hit. My plan is to switch from 20 oz bottles of soda to 12 oz cans, then maybe to those itty bitty cans for a little boost. I went totally without any caffeine on Sunday and didn't get a headache at all, so I guess I'm doing okay. I also don't feel like I need to gulp my soda down in the mornings and can usually make it stretch until lunchtime, so I don't feel like I want another soda then.

I'm also trying really, really hard to do that whole 8 glasses of water a day thing. I've been doing it for about a week now and it's going okay. I haven't hit it everyday, but I'm still drinking much more water than I usually do. Every little bit helps.

Me? Acting healthy? Yeah, I know. It seems wrong. But it's too easy to become a fat slug during the fall/winter and I'm going to try to take care of myself a little bit.

Why the hell is it freezing ass cold??? It's much too early for this! I still refuse to pull out a coat until at least October, but I definitely have had to wear a hoodie when I'm outside.

Today is our annual Pretend We Have Good Morale company party at work. We don't have a holday party since we administer medical benefits and everyone spends Nov & Dec running around crazy wokring on Open Enrollment for our clients, so we get a fall party instead. When we were still a small company, we used to have pretty awesome parties. But ever since we got bought out, the parties have been lame. This is the 2nd year we're having an afternoon of bowling. It's okay, I guess. I signed up to bowl, even though I shouldn't because of my carpal tunnel. My other options were Texas Hold 'Em and "watching the activities" though, so I decided bowling was it. The good thing is that one of the guys in my department works as a bartender at the bowling alley. Last year he was rather generous with the booze and he's working the bar again this year. It's a shame I live so far away from here, otherwise I'd just get hammered.

Also, they made sure to send out a memo again this year that we may wear jeans to the bowling alley, but we are only allowed to change into them once we have finished our work day. Like the company is going to collapse if we have a little "fun" and wear jeans on a Tuesday. I don't get it. But my jeans and Butch Walker shirt are waiting for me under my desk.

I guess that's it for now.

I've been amazed at how well I'm doing without caffeine, too ... it wasn't my goal to give up caffeine, but I wanted to give up the sugar in regular soda. I don't like the taste of diet very much, though, so I only drink a can in the morning nowadays. It's odd, how I don't really crave it any more!

Getting healthy is good. :) I'm actually a total evangelical convert to Sparkpeople (http://www.sparkpeople.com) - nothing has ever worked to clean up my diet routine, until now!

Yeah, I joined Sparkpeople the other day after seeing you rave about it. I'm not sure how much I'll keep up with it, but I like the idea of keeping track of things I eat. It makes me more aware of what I'm eating and to keep away from munching on random things.

Yay for you! Water's not so bad once you get used to it. ^^

And of course the company is going to collapse if you wear jeans on a Tuesday. Heaven will take note. *solemn nodnod*

XD Hope you have fun tonight at least.

Thanks!

Bowling was okay. Not very exciting. I totally screwed up my wrist and dropping the ball alot since I couldn't feel my hand. Blah.

Believe it or not, I have given up caffeine too. Too many bladder infections. I'm going out of my way to avoid huge amounts of sugar, too.

God, if I quit smoking, the world will stop turning.
