12 of 12: August Edition
Aug. 13th, 2006 12:17 amFinally! A 12 of 12 where I'm actually doing something interesting!! For a refresher: Chad Darnell's 12 of 12. 12 photos on 12th of the month. Got it? Good!
7:44am - Way too early for a Sat morning

Fresh out of the shower. Why the hell am I up this early??
10:24am - Oh yeah. I have to work.

Get me the hell out of here!
12:52pm - My rescuers!

Bren, Jamie & Shandai picked me up at work and we headed down to the St. Paul Irish Fair. The weather was perfect!! Here we are waiting for a dance lesson to begin.
1:07pm - Who's the man again?

Bren & Jamie dancing a reel.
3:22pm - What a beautiful day!

Me, enjoying the sunshine.
3:26pm - Yes, St. Paul has a downtown too

I honestly do prefer St. Paul to Minneapolis. This is the mighty Mississippi river. My dad used to work in that orange/brown brick building on the other side.
3:45pm - Here we are at the dancing lessons again

Why? Hmmmm...it might have had something to do with the super hot Irish instructor with the sweet pointy boots, fabulous accent and nice rear end. ;) Yes, even I danced. And he used me as a demonstration partner! I may have whispered "He touched me!" to Shandai. *g*
5:58pm - *drool*

*pffft* Like I wasn't going to get a photo with him. Gerard: "So, is this going on your MySpace then?" Me: "Ummmm, yeah, actually." *much giggling* I got his business card too, so I'm debating emailing it to him.
6:25pm - The Fuchsia Band

Once we were finished with the last lesson, we moved over to the crowd by the main stage. And became completely entranced with The Fuchsia Band. They were great! And yes, that's the hot Irish dance instructor making another appearance. He and some friends did some spontaneous dancing in front of the band.
6:45pm - ROY!

The last time I saw my friend Roy was when I somehow ran into him in the middle of a huge crowd at the Minnesota State Fair last year. Now I managed to find him in the middle of 50,000 drunk Irish people.
7:01pm - More adorable Irish boys!

The Fuchsia Band did a CD signing at a nearby booth, so we stopped by.
8:31pm - Gaelic Storm

The reason we were really here: Gaelic Storm! I've never seen them before, or heard any of their music, but I'm now a fan. They were so entertaining! I love a band that puts on a great live show.
Bonus pic!
This months bonus pic was to get a photo based on the keyword "homage."

Bah! I couldn't really come up with anything good for this word. So, here's a photo of my hallway that's dedicated to photos of my Faster Pussycat boys. I guess that counts.

Date: 2006-08-13 12:55 pm (UTC)And yeah...the challenge this month was kind of...off. I seriously considered taking a picture of cheese and being like "Oh! You said homage. Not frommage." LOL.

Date: 2006-08-13 03:01 pm (UTC)Yeah, I really had no idea what to do for homage. I didn't think my friends would find it funny if I asked them to bow down before me. =)

Date: 2006-08-13 03:06 pm (UTC)The RENT signage seemed a better option for me.
Someone did do "homage to fromage". :)

Date: 2006-08-14 07:53 pm (UTC)The weather was so perfect on Saturday! I'm very glad we went then instead of on Sunday, because it rained most of the day. And when it wasn't raining, it was so very muggy that a dark foggy haze sat over the city. It felt like you could swim through the air. Bleech.
