12 of 12: May Edition

It's the 12th again, and that means 12 of 12, of course. If you happen to be wandering over here from Chad Darnell's blog, hello there! I'm Leigh, I live just outside of St. Paul, MN (but work outside of Minneapolis) and here's the photos of my day. Click on the thumbnails to get to the bigger photos.


5:41am - Ugh!

I had the day off from work yesterday, so it's a little bit of a shock to wake up on time today. In fact, I hit the snooze a couple more times than I should have.

6:27am - Traffic, as usual

Great. It's miserably cold and rainy. Boo. Where's Spring?!?

7:35am - Why does it feel like Monday?

I think I'm getting sick from spending all day outside in the cold yesterday, and I have a huge pile of work to go through from having Thursday off. Makes a person just want to crawl under their desk and take a nap. Notice that I am wearing a huge, bulky sweater because it is FREEZING in my office.

8:24am - Mid-morning break

It certainly is green outside. That's because it's been raining for the last 1800 days.

11:23am - Lunch

A mashed up baked potato covered with cheese, chili and onions is for lunch. (My cubemate should be very happy that I also bought some gum) As is a spin through some of my usual websites, including fark.com.

3:04pm - Escape from CubeVille

I've finally made it through my day and need to stop for gas before heading home. Gas was 2.95 when I drove by this morning, so I'm glad I didn't stop then.

3:26pm - Pigs!

I swear I get stuck behind an aromatic livestock truck at least once a week. WHY?

4:05pm - A pit stop between jobs

I stop at home for a little while to snack on some leftover chinese food and watch the ending of The Office a couple more times. SO GOOD!!

7:47pm - Shop girl

Hallmark. Two days before Mother's Day and the scent of desperate men is in the air. This is my usual pose - staring longingly out the door because I want to go home.

8:52pm - Pay day!!

A stop by the ATM since today was pay day.

9:11pm - Dinner

A pay day ritual - eating out somewhere that's not Taco Bell. Tonight it's BW-3, one of my faves.

10:19pm - Do you know what Friday means?

Yep! It's local news sensation, Sven Sundgaard. Weather geeks are hot.

2:08pm - My bonus pic: Self-portrait

This wasn't really the effect I was going for, but I like how it turned out. This is actually in the bathroom at work. =)

I really should! The sad part is that I had my camera with me for a big part of my day, so I could have done it...if I'd REMEMBERED. Damn my luck.

I might do a memorial 12 on 13 tomorrow, just to say I've done it. A practice run for the future or something. ;)

Hey, it's almost more fun to have an average day than a crazy day, because then it's really a "day in the life" kind of thing. ;)

I actually have a bunch of photos from Thursday that I should post, but I'm too tired to do it now.

Yeah, but I want it to look like I do more than just go to work and watch TV. Not that I do...

Yeah, my life is boring. One of the very good reasons why taking pictures of a day in it is kind of...well, sleep-inducing.

Great pics!! The Self-portrait is nice. I tried it for about 100 times, before I got something nearly reasonably lol
But I'm glad to hear that Germany isn't the only country with exploded gas prices :-(

Thanks! I had some other ideas for the self portrait, but didn't really have time to do anything since I had to work both jobs yesterday.

Gas went up here this week because it's the opening weekend for fishing season. Everyone around here gets in their car/truck/SUV and drives 2-4 hours up North to get to the good lakes. So, gas prices go up. Grrrrr...
