I realized I haven't given a proper update in a while, so I thought I'd ramble about things for a little while. Not much has been happening lately. My allergies are kicking my ass! At least, I think that's what is wrong. I am constantly exhausted. Pretty much every day, I come home from work, fiddle around on the 'puter a little, take a 2-3 hour nap, fiddle around some more, watch CJ, and then go back to sleep. Not exactly exciting. I'm also Miss Hydration, as I can easily drink 3-4 bottles of water in a day, besides my usual caffeine intake. If you know me at all, you know that I'm not so much about the water. I'm just craving it lately. Right now, in fact.
But things should get a little more exciting soon.
duckduck and I are going to see Kasey Michaels Chambers on Friday at the Minnesota Zoo. I'm excited! Hopefully I'll know more than two songs. I'm also going to Chicago this weekend for the last show of the Metal Sludge MSX-II tour. I'm finally going to realize my dream of getting to see Tuff live!! ;) I'm glad I'll be seeing the usual Chi-town crowd, since I've missed everyone a lot. Unfortunately, I don't really have any money to drink (*shakes fist at gas prices*), but it'll still be a good time.
Next week brings the arrival of
cyberwuzzle and her hub to the Twin Cities. She'll be doing some book signings here. YAY!
rockerlee will also be up for a couple days, and as a reminder, we'll be going out for my birthday on Thursday night. We'll be seeing Holiday at Jersey's Bar. Oh Goddess! They have one of those birthday-person-drinks-free things on Thursday nights. That's not good. I blacked out last time I did that. =/
Lee will be in town because we're going to see Motley Crue at the Minnesota State Fair on Friday the 26th. The fact that The Crue is playing The Fair still amuses me. A lot. Unless it's like a thousand degrees, we're planning to hang out at The Fair and people gawk for a while that day. Then, we're heading down to Iowa to catch Rock Never Stops at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake on Saturday. Hopefully I'll have time to swing by one of Anya's book signings too.
Not much planned after that. I'll be Up at the Cabin for my actually birthday day and Labor Day weekend. Taime posted on MySpace that Faster is hoping to tour in Oct, which is horrible for me since we're swamped at work. I probably won't be able to make it to more than a couple shows. And yes, I am a big enough fan girl to have looked up airfare prices for their Vegas show next month. Nothing much below $300, so probably not going to happen. I do hold out hope though. I miss my boys!
What else...Oh! So, I finished reading The Good, the Bad and the Undead. Some of you have read it, right? Why was Piscary killing the ley line witches? Did I miss the part where it was actually explained? I just felt confused by the end. Especially Rachel driving off with the man she hates and who is a murderer, just because he made a little nicey-nice and he's pretty. I liked the book, but it just seemed obvious that they rushed it out since Dead Witch Walking had been such a sucess. I won't even start on the glaringly horrible copy editing mistakes. But, Jeff Beck's "Loser" was drifting from from the upper floor of the restaurant?? Uhhhhh...I'm not a big Jeff Beck fan or anything, but I'm still pretty sure that he didn't have a song called "Loser."
We decided last night that we'll be reading Robin McKinley's Beauty for our next book club. This makes me VERY happy since it's one of my all-time favorite books. I think everyone should like it.

Date: 2005-08-18 04:26 pm (UTC)No drinking! Great well you can watch me get bombed. Isn't that exciting! I think the venue is pretty cheap. If I remember correctly beers were $3.

Date: 2005-08-18 04:55 pm (UTC)If it's not too expensive to get in, I'll have money to get a couple drinks. But I'm okay with spending the evening watching the crazy drunks. I'm still kind of a little anti-alcohol after my Nashville experience.

Date: 2005-08-18 06:27 pm (UTC)You can always pay the $7 to get into The Fair and then stand outside the Grandstand while The Exies are on. It'll be just like you're inside! ;)
