Finally, 11 days later, I'm actually starting to feel better. I've been completely miserable for the past couple days. I've been coughing so much that my throat is raw and each cough causes pain all the way through my abdomen. I haven't been sleeping because of the coughing, so I've been totally run down. But last night I could finally tell a difference and my coughing isn't nearly as bad today. Thank goodness!
ETA: Another side effect I've found of this whole cold thing is that I'm not hungry. At all. In fact, food is pretty much unappetizing. There's been a couple exceptions, like when I ate half a bucket of popcorn on Sunday, but otherwise I have to make myself eat. Because I get dizzy and fall down if I don't.
Now I just get the fun of combating my allergies. Oh joy.
In other news, plans to leave town this weekend have been cancelled as the weather isn't going to be that great. Why drive 2 1/2 hours to the cabin just to sit inside and watch the rain when I could do that at home? I'm firmly suppressing the desire to head to Chicago for Monaco's show at the Elbo Room on Sunday night. I don't need to be spending that much on gas money right now. Hopefully, we'll whip up some sort of BBQ & a movie type thing for Monday. Then two whole days of work. Then I head for the city of angels!

Date: 2005-05-25 03:37 pm (UTC)Guess I won't wait till Saturday.
Whatever you do this weekend I hope you have fun...
And I know about being sick. Sometimes you actually have to get better to know just how bad you felt.
on a side note...lots of tea with honey..I had a severe cough after a sick spell when I worked for the Chronicle...and one morning I coughed and my voice was gone for a whole week....I was a sight to behold because I was the receptionist for the Automotive Advertising section and had to answer phones all day long. Got lots of home remedies that week.

Date: 2005-05-25 04:00 pm (UTC)Oh, I know how bad I felt. =)
I'm just not a tea drinker. In fact, I don't drink hot beverages at all, with a small exception for hot chocolate. I'm having a hard enough time forcing myself to drink water instead of my usual contstant soda ingestion. But thanks!

Date: 2005-05-25 04:39 pm (UTC)As for the rain screwing up your plans, that stinks. I'm sorry. But if you ask me, since you're going to CA soon enough, the rain is just a temporary pain in the butt. ^_^

Date: 2005-05-25 04:52 pm (UTC)I know. But it's nice to get away for the weekend. LA is fun for the weekend too, but it's not really relaxing. I was looking forward to enjoying the quiet, watching the stars, hanging out on the lake, and swinging on the glider chair with my dogs. Oh well. Maybe in a couple weeks.
