I just got back from Revenge of the Sith. (Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] dazeebean!) My very non-spoilerish review: I liked it! A lot. About a thousand times better than Episodes I & II combined.

But...
a) There's no crying in Star Wars. That was pathetic.
b) Vader's epic cry of "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" when he learns of Padme's fate? Cheesiest.Moment.Ever In all of Star Warsdom. Without a doubt.

Eh, I don't think that the crying was so bad. I mean, especially when it comes to Anakin/Vader it shows his inner struggle. He just didn't go over to the darkside. If he was truly evil, he wouldn't have felt anything when he killed all those people. It wasn't until he thought Padme betrayed him that he went ballistic.

Okay, yeah. I would have preferred just animal scream or something. I don't know what's worse... Vader screaming "No!" or James Earl Jones having to record that.

Eh, I don't know. The first tear was forgivable, I suppose. But the tear when he's standing on the bridge on the lava planet? Meh.

Ugh. I didn't even think of poor James Earl Jones having to record it. Now it's even worse.

Eh. Overall I liked it, but for a few things. Not enough Wookies and Padmai suddenly became weak and helpless.

Oh yeah. Totally needed more Wookies.

I've never felt all that attached to Padme, so I guess I wasn't all that disappointed when she became such a weakling.

Me neither. (I actually hated the first two movies) But it still bugged me.

Yeah, I saw it today and Vader's reaction was a little overboard (as was the overacting/shreiking of the Emperor), but it wasn't the cheesiest moment. I still think X-Men has cheese beat with all of Storm's lines!

I'll see it again, but will wait a few weeks to let everything sink in. It was very dark and disturbing - the whole slaying the Jedi and Younglings scenes made me cry and get angry at the same time.

If George Lucas wanted people to feel more hatred towards the Emperor and Anakin/Vader, he was successful!

I was okay with the crying (and doing my own fair share) but that yell? *shudder* Who the hell wrote that in?

Well, he was crying as he was killing all those guys in that room of the lava planet. That's where the tear comes from that you're talking about. Eh, I can deal with it seeing it's a lot better acting from Hayden than he did in the second episode.

[need to add Shattered Glass to my netflix]
He was good in "Life As A House". That movie was SO good. I love me some Kevin Kline. :D
