My day has really not gotten off to a good start. I knew it snowed last night, but I had no idea how much. There were like 4 inches of heavy, wet snow on my car this morning! Ugh! Needless to say, I was late getting to work. Then there's all these emails waiting for me that our online system isn't working. I'm the one that sets up access to the site, but I don't have anything to do with the db or the site itself. That's the web guys. But, people still think I'm in charge and want to know when I'm going to get it fixed. My answer of "I have no idea what's wrong. Ask Sean." isn't taken kindly. *shrugs* WTF am I supposed to do?? The db guys send out an email that there is a problem with one of our servers and they're working on it and I STILL get emails from people wanting to know why they can't get in. ARGH! I swear...

Because the system isn't working, I can't actually do anything work related. So here I am updating my journal. Maybe I'll do some filing if I get really bored. I'd write about my weekend, but I didn't do anything that exciting. I did finally see Finding Neverland, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dazeebean. It was really good! Johnny Depp in eyeliner = instantly good movie. I finished watching Season 6 of Homicide last night. I remember watching that last episode when it was first on TV seven years ago and being shocked. Damn! It's SUCH a good show! Can't wait for Season 7, although that's the last one, so it's kind of sad. I also watched SNL (as previously discussed) and a lot of Law & Order and Crossing Jordan. As I discussed with [livejournal.com profile] duckduck last night, I'm developing a bit of a crush on Steve Valentine, who plays Nigel on CJ. I have no idea why, other than geeks are hot. And goth geeks are doubly so.

You'll notice that in all of that, nowhere did I mention reading our book club book, Wideacre. Our bookgroup is in ten days. It's a 640 page heavy historical fiction book. I'm on page 20. This is bad. I'm never going to get through it. I just have no interest in reading it! I breezed though three other books this weekend, but I can't make myself pick up this one. I may end up being a bad member of the group for this meeting, and show up without finishing it.

I'm constantly a bad member of the group. But if it pains you to read it, than don't.

I've made a new resolution: no longer will I buy the bookclub books. I never finish them anyway.

Geeks are hot!

I don't know what I'm going to do. I could make myself read it, but it'll be painful. I really just don't like that kind of book. Why force myself?

I don't mind buying the books. And usually I finish. This one just has me at a dead stop.

I'm totally wearing my I ♥ nerds socks.

You've only read the first chapter? I finished four. And, surprisingly, I am still at it. How far will I get? Remains to be seen. Had to stop to thaw out my hands and feet. It's really fucking cold over here.

You're SO wearing Valentine's Day socks!

Ewwww! I didn't think about them VD socks. I'm going to have to change them.

Everyone in my office is wearing pink and/or red. It's scary.
