I just saw an ad for some movie with lots of bad cgi, and starring Christian Slater, Tara Reid and Stephen Dorff. What exactly about that is supposed to make me want to see it???
The movie is called "Alone in the Dark" based off the most recent game (which was out a few years ago). I had heard that they were thinking about making a movie of it, but then never saw any fruits of their labor.
Then a couple weeks ago, I was driving around town running errands and saw a bus with an ad for the movie on its side. It said something like "Evil Awakens" or something like that above the title. When I looked above that, I saw the names of the actors you mentioned, and I thought, "Oh shit, a game I kind of enjoyed has been made into a movie... with 'them'." I mean, the biggest actor in that film is Slater, and what was the last thing he did? Very Bad Things?
I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt, but the director is Uwe Boll. He was responsible for the "House of the Dead" movie... you know, based off the game, but the only similarities between the two was the name. Oh, and there was shooting involved. :P
[looks to the heavens and PRAYS that it's not as bad as I, deep down, am expecting it to be.]
