Why, it's an actual update! *facepalm*

Seriously, fuck work. I'm totally fed up right now. Listen, I do NOT sit here twiddling my thumbs waiting for you to email me with something to do. I have plenty of things to get done! I cannot just drop everything because you think you're more important than everyone else. I've actually had people email me today, then run over to my desk before I've even had time to read it, to ask if I've gotten the email & if it's done. WTF?? On a good note though, my boss' boss, who is very nice, emailed me to say thank you for something I completed for him last week and apologized that it took him so long to say it. *preens*
My friend Joy moved to WI a couple months ago, which may as well be halfway across the world. (Some of you may remember the drunk photos of me frmo her going away party) Her birthday was last week, and she came back into town to celebrate. I wasn't going to go, as it had been a long week and I knew I was crabby. But I realized that was a shitty thing to do, and I should really go since she's my friend and all.
So, I drove down to the Barn after work on Friday night. Joy looks great! Very happy and relaxed. The land of cheese seems to be treating her well. I had barely sat down, when people started asking if I'd go up to sing, as the Barn has karaoke. I got myself a huge Red Bull/Absolute and started paging through their song list. This place has terrible choices though, and I wasn't finding anything I wanted. But, I had seen people bring in their own CDs before, and that gave me an idea. After consulting with the chick running the machine, I ran out to my car and grabbed my Rent karaoke CD.
Joy & I are HUGE Rent dorks! We would always sing it when we were at work together. One of us would start a song - any song, any line - and the other would join in. So, I knew she'd get a kick out of a Rent song. Unfortunately, my CD-R doesn't have the lyrics on it, but I guess I don't really need them. I just had to make sure not to get nervous and forget any words! So, I got up and sang "Out Tonight" in front of the crowd of country hicks. I was very entertained by watching Joy try to figure out what song it was, then seeing her face light up when she figured it out. lol I guess I sounded okay, as I got some nice compliments when I was finished.
I proceeded to get quite trashed. The Jager Bomb was a bad idea. I did get up again and sang "Bitch" and "Right Hand Man," but I'm sure I sounded quite horrible. I had to sober up though, as I had to get home eventually. I gobbled down a sandwich and eventually worked out some of the alcohol. Even though I'd had no intention of doing so, I closed down the bar with Joy. Ugh! I was so tired! But we were having a lot of fun, and I wanted to see her for as long as possible.
I managed to roll out of bed on Saturday around 11am, which was quite difficult. I took Chad's birthday present to the post office ($10 for shipping!! He's SO not worth it!), then went to the scrapbooking store. I got
taylorea's present, and quite a few supplies for myself. Yep, yet another $50 at the scrapbookig place. sigh... I spent the afternoon/evening cleaning up the newest set of screencaps for
hugh_pics and cleaning up some things on my computer.
Soon enough, I got ready to go out as
taylorea(Bren)'s bday party was Sat night. Could more fucking people have their birthdays in September??? Happily, we were going to the bar/bowling alley by my house, so I didn't have far to go. Quite a few people showed up, which was really nice to see. I played a horrible game of darts with
auroram,
duckduck and her hub, j. They finally announced the check in for moonlight bowling, and we migrated into the alley.
I've never actually been to moonlight bowling there before. I had no idea what we were in for! They do this whole thing where they have the colored pins, and depending on their positions, your shot could be worth a little money. Like a dollar. Or even a quarter. The lady running it, and calling out the shots, was INSANE! Completely, totally insane!! She had the most insane laugh that I've even heard. We were all scared. But it did provide some nice entertainment. And I won a whole dollar. I think
auroram ended up with $6.25 by the end of the night. I was definitely not drunk enough to bowl good, so I started drinking Jack & Cokes. And omg were they were strong!! I became like instantly stupid, and my bowling got much better.
I have no idea who got the best scores or anything. None of us are really very good. I was just fun to hang out and chatter and laugh at the crazy lady. But not too loud, 'cause she'd yell at you. I was starving, and got it in my head that I needed to have White Castle!
duckduck thought this was a fabulous idea & wanted it too! We ended up just waiting for the night to be over so we could get food. I was so much happier after a couple cheeseburgers!
I sort of got up around noon on Sunday. Two nights of being out until 2am is kind of hard for me. I think I'm old. *boo* I went to a different scrapbooking place, and plunked down another $50. But I got cool weapons...err, tools. With a hammer! And a knife!! Scrapping is apparently a dangerous activity. I went over to Bren & Andy's, only to discover that Bren was deathly sick. So much so, that I didn't really want to be around her. I did a loud of laundry there ('cause I'm a mooch), watched part of the Viking's game, and a few episodes of Kids in the Hall. (I NEED those DVD's!) I wasn't feeling inspired to scrapbook though, which was the whole reason I was over there, so I went home.
Eventually, I did finish my scrapbook page for Jeremy Kushnier. I guess I needed inspiration from some zombies or something. I met
dazeebean at the theater and we saw Shaun of the Dead. Fabulous! I totally loved it!! But I was beat when I finally got home. I finished my scrapbook page, then crawled into bed. And that, was that for my weekend!
