Feb. 26th, 2009 08:59 pmOkay,
wilowisp. I watched the first episode of Dollhouse finally. And...I'm not sure about it yet. I didn't hate it or anything, but I'm not sold on it yet either. I'll probably watch episode 2 once ER is over and maybe that will help.
The most important part is: HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT REED DIAMOND IS ON THIS SHOW?? Mikey! I haven't seen him in anything lately and I've missed him. When he came on screen, I might have given a little squeal. He must not be a permanent cast member though since he's listed in the 'guest starring' section of the credits.
I just went outside to see what it was like out there. It's a mess. There was a 10 inch snowdrift behind my car. I decided to see if I could move my car to a better spot so I wouldn't have any issues getting out in the morning, but all the other spots suck too. But I did manage to get out so I at least won't get stuck. And the good thing about the brutal wind is that it's blowing all of the snow off my car. I shouldn't have too much to clean off my car in the morning.
Yes, I think ahead like that. It's how my brain works.
The more I ponder Law & Order: UK, the more I think I may have a new OTP. ♥

Date: 2009-02-27 05:09 pm (UTC)But that's just my take. And as I told someone, it's like Joss is just expecting to get canceled and is trying to get the whole story out as quickly as possible. ::shrugs::
I saw the spoiler too. Not surprising. The show is full of Joss/Minear actors. I'm definitely looking forward to it! But lets hope he's wearing more clothes, maybe. The Surpise!Naked Guy thing was a little weird.
Reed is the blonde dude. The right-hand guy to the lady in charge. I've totally forgotten what is name was.

Date: 2009-02-27 06:08 pm (UTC)I do know that Joss' original pilot was different, and that there was a "mutual agreement" between him and FOX to change it. From what I've read, the first 5 episodes are all sort of mini-pilot episodes-- mostly stand-alone, but giving you a general idea of the world. Then it starts being a little more involved.
I'm amused by the number of Joss/Minear actors. I'm not surprised by Alpha's identity, but I'm tickled about being able to see him in a new role. I'm also curious to see how he does, since I've only seen him in more comedic roles.
I kind of agree with your comment about starting out with the FAIL. It makes you wonder how these people can stay in business if they have this many problems.
I dunno... the premise, from what I understand, is that Echo is "remembering" things that she shouldn't be remembering. Things that should have been wiped from her memory. Things that make her become self-aware and remember who she was before she became a doll. This isn't what happened in the first episode... what we saw there was where she remembered things from her alter-ego. (Which I actually think is an interesting concept, along with the idea that they are programmed with flaws as well as the ideal characteristics, because it gives them motivation.) We sort of see that the memory-wipe thing isn't working exactly correctly at the end of the 2nd episode, but we're still not getting an indication that Echo is remembering *Caroline*. Maybe I just misunderstood what the premise of the show was supposed to be, though.
Also, if you've got one operative who's screwed up 2 missions in a row, I don't think you'd be sending that operative out again immediately. Maybe it's just me, though.

Date: 2009-02-27 08:05 pm (UTC)They re-wrote a whole bunch of the episodes.
But Echo did remember things from her own life in the first episode, not just the imprint's memory. She remembered the woman lying on the table for her treatment. It got mixed in with her 'remembering' about getting kidnapped. That's what caused her first asthma attack. But that still wasn't remembering about 'Caroline's' life. I don't know. There's just so MUCH going on. And sometime's it's very important to remember that TV needs kind of stay dumbed down.
