Say, since I'm totally out of the loop -- is there any real information about casting for the third season?

There is some. The only permanent change seems to be that Kai Owens (Rhys) and Tom Price (PC Andy) have been hired on as actual cast members. Not getting hired at TW, but assisting them when needed. Everyone else involved for the season seem to just be part of the storyline for the five episodes. And none of them were people I knew.

Although there were rumors that shooting moved to London for a couple weeks so Freema and Noel Clarke could be part of the season, but that has never been substantiated.

You know, Owen was an obnoxious bastard, but I'm still going to miss him. :(

It's going to be SO LONG without new Torchwood or Dr. Who. I'm tempted to watch Merlin just to fill the BBC-shaped hole in my heart. Even though I know it's basically BBC-does-the-CW. But I have heard rumor of talking dragons who tell failboat boys that they're fated to be together forever and ever, so it does seem to have sheer crackheadedness going for it.

this ones popping all over my flist (but i don't mind that at all) but it's funny - because everyone is Ianto! I think it's the inherent eljay = snark = sarcasm = Ianto flow, but still I am amused.

I'm totally adoring the Merlin show, honestly. It's cheesy and bears absolutely no resemblence whatsoever to the Arthurian legends... but it's pretty and fun and sarcastic and there's Giles as King Uther and lots of longing looks between Merlin and Arthur. :D
