Oh look, it's raining again. That's a change. [/sarcasm] I'd give anything to see the sun right now!! Three days...three days and I will be in sunny smoggy LA, where there are no weather changes. It's supposed to be mid-80s and party cloudy all three days. Yay!!

Do you ever have moments when you realize that Office Space is the most true-to-life movie ever made? That was me today - except it was the printer instead of the fax machine. Me: "There is NO paper jam!!!" *kicks stupid printer* I ended up on my hands and knees, opening every door I could find and covered in toner. But I did eventually find the paper jam and became the hero of our department. *takes a bow*

I'm beginning to freak out a little bit. I've been getting these horrible dizzy spells lately. So bad that it throws off my equilibrium and I can't really walk straight. Not too mention that I feel really nauseous and gross. I had three really bad spells at work last week, and another couple at home this weekend. Then I got one while driving in the rain the other night, and that really scared me. I couldn't see right and if I hadn't been almost home, I would have pulled over and stopped. This is not good. I know, I know..."Gee Leigh, GO TO THE DOCTOR!!" I hate the doctor though, and it'll just cost money for them to tell me they can't find anything. I know it's connected to my neck injury, so I bought a new pillow yesterday and hopefully I'll start feeling better. I only have a low-level nausea right now, so maybe I'll be fine. And yes, I'm just going to believe that. It's not a tumah.

Back to the grind...

I like the rain...

LA, huh? Seems like you're going to be in my neck of the woods... sort of. (I'm in California.)

Q: Do you ever have moments when you realize that Office Space is the most true-to-life movie ever made?
A: It so is. Sometimes more-so than any documentary/bio-pic out there.
And paperjams suck... but mine always happen at the photocopier. I always get people bothering me out of my busy day to say the copier won't work. (There's a little diagram on the screen that say which door to open and what to do. I swear to gawd, these people are engineer's for heaven's sake and they come to me when they need something simple as their 'noses wiped'.)
End of rant there.

Sorry to hear about your dizzy spells and all that. I had that a couple of years ago and with me it was some bug that was going around. I was a little nauseous, but I wasn't eating. I'd see food and be hungry, but take one bite and be full. I would occasionally get lightheaded. Wound up going to the doctor and they found nothing save a little dehydration. (Didn't care much for the doctors that saw me. Since I don't have a doctor of my own, I went to the ER of where my roommate works and she thought I'd be out in 30 minutes. They wound up drawing blood, needing urine, giving me a water solution via IV - I hate needles and having an IV in your arm SUCKS!!! Finally they wanted to do a rectal, and I said NO and went home. They kept trying to convince me that it was best for me even though all the tests results were okay, but I left. [They thought it might be an appendicitis. It wasn't.])
After a week, I was fine. So I guess you should look into the dehydration as a possibility (drink lots of juices and stuff). Most likely it's a bug that's going around, you caught it and will be done with it in a week or so.
The rain/dizzy spell story worries me though. I've had lightheaded/dizzy spells in the car before, but nothing like that. I'm glad you're okay.

On a completely different note, I just wanted to say hello. Saw a post you made on one of the Hugh Jackman groups. I love him, too. How old was he in the pics that you have on your LJ? He looks so young. And I love your Hugh mood icons. I want some of my own, but I don't know how to make them.
Okay, I've rambled on long enough. Later. :)

There's a reason my old boss brought that movie on on the day they announced layoffs in our department.... she had it playing all day in the lounge.

Well, hello! *waves* That's a very long introductory post you made there. :) Welcome to the madness that is my lj. I'm sure you'll fit in fine.

I am going to LA this weekend! I'll be visiting [livejournal.com profile] vampirecarly and going to see two of my very favorite bands ever, Killingbird and Blackboard Jungle. I can't wait! I haven't done much band stalking this year, so I'm very anxious to begin.

I know my dizzy spells are connected to my neck. I flipped my car three years ago and have had trouble ever since. And once in a while it acts up and does something funky to my body. This time, it's dizzy spells. Sitting and standing are not my friends right now, as I think that's where the problem is. I can feel my spine compressing and then I get all dizzy. Like now. I'm sure if I just rest I'll be fine, but who has time to lay around? I'm just going to try to take it as easy as I can. Thank you for your concern.

All of the Hughey pics on my lj layout are from this year. I know, he looks very young in the ones on the left. But they were done for Van Helsing promo stuff, so they are fairly recent. The ones on the right are from the May issue of Interview, so they're recent too. All of the pics are probably my very, very faves! Mood icons are actually pretty easy to make, just rather time consuming. It was torture looking through hundreds of Hugh photos, but I managed. ;)

Everyone should see this movie

Peter Gibbons: You're gonna lay off Samir and Michael?
Bob Slydell: Oh yeah, we're bring in some entry-level graduates, farm some work out to Singapore, that's the usual deal.
Bob Porter: Standard operating procedure.
Peter Gibbons: Do they know this yet?
Bob Slydell: No. No, of course not. We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

*******************************************

Peter Gibbons: So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.
Dr. Swanson: What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Dr. Swanson: Wow, that's messed up.

**********************************************

Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.
Samir: Piece of shit.

First, yes, Office Space is the truest movie ever created, even to those of us who don't work in offices.

Second, "Gee Leigh, GO TO A DOCTOR!" Couldn't have said it better myself.

It sounds like you have a pretty bad case of dehydration. But it could be other things. I'm not saying a tumor, but meningitis is a distinct possibility. You already have neck pain from your injury, so you wouldn't have noticed that as a symptom, but what about headaches?

If you are getting so dizzy that it is affecting your life, it is time to see a doctor. No matter how shitty they can be. And if you want to put that off for a little longer, which I hope you don't, call your pharmacist up and ask him/her what it sounds like, and is there anything over-the-counter you can take. They aren't doctors, but they know when to tell a person to go to one.

If it is dehydration, which it really sounds like, the obvious thing is drink more fluids. But watch which ones. No caffeine, no sodium, and low acid until you feel better, missy! And eat bananas, the potassium is great for getting your body to hold liquids in.

Ok, end of rant. You just sounded too much like my mom there, letting herself fall down unconscious before she would go to the doctor. Don't let me hear about you pulling that shit, you're too cool. And besides, I still need some sort of Ewan McGregor and or Pirates of the Caribbean icon from you. And how will you do that from a hospital, huh?

I don't know. Dehydration just doesn't sound right. It's not that warm here and I'm not any more thirsty than I usually am. I don't usually have any neck pain on a normal basis, so I'm pretty sure that's what is causing everything. I'm not getting headaches and I'm really only getting the dizziness when I've been sitting for a while and my spine is compressing.

But I'll take your advice and start hydrating. More water and the such. But I cannot give up my caffeine! I can't deal with the several-day long headache that I'll get. But I have severly cut down on the caffeine consumption lately, which is better than nothing. I'm not into bananas though.

Believe me, I won't let it get so bad that I'll get all unconscious. The dizzy spells don't last that long and are not constant. I can deal with it for a while. If it's still bad when I get back from LA, then I'll see about going to the doctor.

Thank you for your concern. And for saying that I'm cool. But I must have you snowed, because I am truly a huge dork. And I'm borrowing Moulin Rouge from my friend, so I can finally think about doing your icon. ;)

I hate dizzy spells. I just read about a guy who had lots of dizzy spells and it turned out there was a NAIL IN HIS HEAD!! ahhhh!

Our office has problems with our printer ALL THE TIME! [shakes fist]

hmmm...I think I would have noticed if I had a nail in my head. I try not to play around nail guns too much anymore. But thanks for the warning. Maybe I'll go run my head under a large magnet just to be sure.

Since I just moved to the other side of the floor, I'm using a different printer now. I was hoping this printer would be better than our last one. I was wrong. Very very wrong.
