Okay, so I thought it was kind of ridiculous that they already brought Rose back in episode 1. How about some build up? And now Martha's already back in episode 4? Don't you want to wait a bit for that kind of thing?? Let Donna have a couple more episodes to gain her footing?
And seriously? Again, it's episode FOUR. And we have Donna with a tearful family reunion and a flashback sequence. Over, you know, the last three whole episodes. It's just all weirdly out of place. She hasn't been gone that long. Episode 8, maybe.
Oh, and Martha? I do like you. But:
For realz, honey. You're a moron.
And for the record, I totally agree with all the Doctor + Ross = OTP sentiment. Oh Doctor. You and your pretty boys! (seriously, if they really do bring a certain teaboy in for a cameo in the last episode, I may die from the pretty)
In any case, I fell asleep watching it last night and had to try again today. I didn't like the episode any better this time. =/ Sitting through the 2nd part next weekend could be very painful, but I'll watch it anyways.
Oh God. I've turned into a true Who fan. =/ Bitching yet still watching.

Date: 2008-04-28 04:53 am (UTC)*sniffs* I'm so proud! It seems like only yesterday you were thinking of looking at this show half your Flist kept going on about....
Yeah. Didn't exect much from the ep, and didn't get it. Whoever keeps comissining Raynor's scripts needs to be beaten severely.

Date: 2008-04-28 05:03 am (UTC)It's sad because I've enjoyed the first three episodes a lot. Kinda puts a full stop on the flow of the episodes.

Date: 2008-04-28 05:51 am (UTC)But yeah, you're right about the Donna thing. Actually, Martha being there didn't bother me as much as the flashback, because it completely felt out of place. I get it in the sense that Donna's seen some crap she didn't want to--Pompeii and the Ood weren't exactly the "meeting Shakespeare" kind of easing into life as a companion--but really? It felt like a bad version of "This is your life."
I'm wondering when Rose will really rear her ugly head for more than a two-second cameo. I'm secretly hoping the cameo will be it, but I have more sense than that. Sigh.

Uhh, you might be right about that Rose thing.

Date: 2008-04-28 02:50 pm (UTC)In the same way, THE FLASHBACK WAS AWFUL. Like, for serious. I did like the whole thing with her family and The Doctor, though. "YOU!" That was funny.
I was looking up information and I suppose I'm wrong but I am still pretending I'm right. (And I want the Agatha Christie episode. Like, now.)

Date: 2008-04-28 03:08 pm (UTC)Okay, yeah. The 'You!' was funny. The rest of it? Not so much.
Well, you're right in that Rose is going to be more than a cameo appearance.

Date: 2008-04-28 03:32 pm (UTC)I know that rose is going to be more than a cameo, and that Martha is going to be in a lot more episodes, and that eventually, the Doctor is going to be overloaded with companions. Which I kind of think has hilarious potential.

Date: 2008-04-28 03:46 pm (UTC)If the rumors are true and TW season 3 is only going to be 5 episodes, you may find me curled in up and crying in the corner at some point.
Of course, that only intensifies my desire to go to London to see JB in Barnum next year. I swear it's going to happen.
Ahhh yes. The Companion Clusterfuck! It's going to be interesting. Or a super huge hot mess.

Date: 2008-04-28 04:20 pm (UTC)Five episodes? FIVE? Oh no. JB, don't you dare go all busy with your other nonsense and mess over TW. What will we do with ourselves? (Of course, I shouldn't necessarily blame JB, but I will anyway.) I keep seeing reviews of his concerts and things and desperately want to see him in person in something. It's not fair. (And the Rift-con reviews! Oh MY.)
There's no way it won't be at least somewhat fun. Because even a DW mess is a fun mess.

Date: 2008-04-28 04:36 pm (UTC)And JB loves being the leading man, doesn't he? I read Anything Goes and his whole thing about getting to be Number 1 on TW. Attention whore.
Now I'm going to be obsessively worried about TW. Look what you've done! ;)

Date: 2008-04-28 04:51 pm (UTC)If I'd Do Anything is still on when JB's DW episodes are on then there will be THREE HOURS of JB on Saturday nights on BBC1. (well, if that dumb game show is still on too, I have no idea how many episodes it has) Barrowman Broadcasting company, indeed.

Date: 2008-04-28 05:30 pm (UTC)I would totally be all for THREE HOURS of JB. The girlfriend was watching TV on Saturday and announced JOHN BARROWMAN IS ON MY TV and I lost some of her attention while she watched I'd Do Anything (I finally got her to watch this seasons' TW and now she's hooked again). He's taking over the BBC and the funny thing is that he's part American. Oh, John.

Date: 2008-04-28 05:58 pm (UTC)Ten-InchTennant and his whole 'I'm gonna do Shakespeare' thing. I'm sure they'd be more than happy for a whole series of Who.I still haven't watched any of the I'd Do Anything episodes. I have them all though. I see some sort of marathon in my future.

Date: 2008-04-29 05:32 am (UTC)I don't even really know what I'd Do Anything is. It's convincing Li to like JB more than she did a few weeks ago, so I'll take what I can get. (She mocks me for being a fangirl, and then today, owned to the fact she'd been Googling images of JB and of Scott for hours. I AM WINNING.)
