Dear Torchwood,

I don't think I could possibly love you any more than I do right at this very moment. Seriously, how is this even the same show from Season 1? It boggles the mind.

Love, me

I KNOW. I even had the icon before today and everything. The icon maker was psychic!

SO DAMN GOOD. Indeed.

Adam. JESUS FUCK. ADAM. JESUS

Reset was a bit of a waste imo (apart from the OMG ending, and jesus fuck DO THEY RISEN MITTEN OWEN WITH A WEEVIL???). Although it was hilarious for the fact that half the cast had a cold (you can tell by the way they're talking)

And did you hear on Adam? JBs accent slipped! "Mum joins us" mum, not "mom" :D

I have not watched yet but I am writing to say THAT IS THE GREATEST ICON EVER TO BE MADE.

SERIOUSLY.

It's actually very very fitting for 'Adam'. But I won't say anything more than that. =)

I really enjoyed both episodes. I thought they each had their own strong points. I'm really really glad I read some spoilers though, so I wasn't all "BUH?" at the end of Reset.

And I can't even tell you how much I love that Ianto & Martha had matching outfits. ♥

Yeah! I heard the 'mum' too.

I HADN'T READ SPOILERS!

"Buh?!" doesn't BEGIN to describe it!

I think I literally screamed "WHAT THE HELL?!" at the tv, then spent another 15 minutes trying to figure out why I *cared* considering the character involved. *scratches head*

There were plenty of people on [livejournal.com profile] torch_wood that didn't know what was going on either and completely freaked out.

Awwww, they've made him so much less repulsive this season! It'll be interesting to see how people react to the rest of the storyline.

I died of laughing after that line. LOVE IT!

Yeah, I've actually grown to like him more this season (and I thought he was interesting character *last* year). My only concern with this season's version is that they've suddenly made him into a superman. I mean, the first 3 episodes, *he* was the one who suddenly had a brilliant idea that ended up saving the day. I'm not saying that he's ever been shown as a blithering idiot, but when did he suddenly turn into Captain Janeway-- able to leap tall buildings in a single bound while simultaneously solving complex mathematical equasions, clawing bullets out of teammates using nothing but a toothpick and a pair of disposable tweezers, and creating a cure for the common cold out of latex balloons and applesauce?

(This icon is hysterical, too... and I actually said that response line about 15 seconds before Jack did. :D )

It's that super Torchwood DNA, you know. Solves everything!

Reset....dunno. Was just a bit "meh" for me. Very s1 TW? not sure. And for some reason Martha's accent in amidst all those lovely welsh vowels just seriously shat me the hell off. I have no idea why. I loves teh maaarfaa! o.o

They actually made him likeable this season. What the hell! I actually like him now! And I was rooting for the fucking weevil to win in Combat!

o.o

Bastards did this to make us cry more! *shakes fist*

See, I thought that too, but when you think about it...not so much.

KKBB, blood, dodgy answer at best
Sleeper, Beth made her own solution, Gwen-centric
TTLM, Everyone lost, especially poor Tosh
Meat, "saved the day" then promptly realised what he'd done and turned into S1 Ianto :P (who by the way kicked MOST EXCELLENT arse)
Adam, Jack's turn to save the day because Adam fucked with his woobie
Reset, swansong.

Eh, everyone has their opinion. I was more annoyed by the Americans that moved to Tattooine than Martha's accent. Not that I didn't like 'Adam' though.

I seriously need to find where I put that Jones & Jones icon. =/

I know. When he agreed to go out with Tosh, I was all "Really? NOW?" Poor Tosh. And her disasterous love life.

I do understand what you're saying... but at the same time, there were at least 2 separate times in the first 2 or 3 episodes where Owen says "I have an idea!" and then *poof* his idea works, and it works brilliantly. I'm used to The Doctor making these crazy intuitive leaps, and even Jack, to a lesser degree... but OWEN?!

I know the first one was in KKBB (with the blood injection), and I know that he did the same thing in TTLM (creating the mental link). Owen was the one who came up with the injection to resolve the situation in "Meat". "Sleeper" I can't really remember... and yes, Jack was the savior in "Adam".

It's also that he's started throwing out the technobabble, and then his actions and complete knowledge when talking with Martha... (remember, this is the same guy who couldn't even properly give a cause of death in one of the 1st season episodes, and his reaction to Gwen teasing him about it at the time made it seem like he was used to people disparaging his abilities as a doctor.) It's not that his "solution" was the final resolution of all the plot-points and rescued everyone entirely-- it just kind of left me with a "What did I miss?" feeling... 'cause this wasn't the same Owen that I was watching in the first season.

(I don't want this to be read as me saying I haven't liked this season, 'cause I have. I think this season is bloody brilliant so far. I *like* Owen The Superhero. It's just not the same Owen that we were introduced to in the first season. :) )

HA! I knew I wasn't the only one humming John Williams when Jack discovered his father *snorts*

Adam was seriously fucking brutal. Holy shit. o.o

Tosh is becoming the Black Widow of Cardiff! If she ever asks you out on a date - RUN AWAY!

(but on the plus side, Adam did give me the screenshots I can use for my "FREE THE CARDIFF TWO!" icon :D)

I think it may have just been a clumsy way to push him into a more prominent position so the end of Reset would have more impact - they've been avoiding the Owen-Centric storylines and saving them for the next block.

They've completely thrown pretty much every S1 characterisation out the window in S2. It's not necessarily a bad thing - lets face it, apart from Tosh they were all pretty unlikeable bastards for the most part - but it does tend to make character canon a bit of a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey-wimey. But this season you can see they're taking their job a hell of a lot more seriously rather than it being treated as something to do when bored on a saturday night.

It is interesting thought and a fun point to poke at - broken Jack had a broken team that disassociated from one another that one was a borderline alcoholic, and one was a serial killer (and no one noticed!) but in S2 they're definitely an actual cohesive team. Which you can attribute in parts to "gwen and her oh-so-tender-heart" being in command for a brief stint. (Compare KKBB to Everything Changes)
