leighblack: (TW - Ianto Snogs Jack)

"We could release a single" is quite possibly THE MOST hilarious line ever uttered on Torchwood. Honestly, I had to pause it 'cause I was laughing so damn hard! =) Yay Rhys! YAY IANTO!! Meh to the rest of the episode. Not one of their best. Next week looks great though.

I dunno, the "have you ever eaten alien meat?" "he seemed to enjoy it" made me knock over a glass of baileys from laughter flails :D

I was actually quite pleasantly surprised by this ep. We were expecting bog standard filler, and instead got arse-kicking, ball-zapping Ianto, and may I say again holy SHIT did they just say that Owen's an empath???

I like this writer :D

That line was great too. But you expect that kind of thing from Jack. Ianto's line was just kind of tossed out there. I like him SO MUCH MORE this season.

The episode was a lot better than I thought it would be, because the preview made it look like utter crap. I think I watched Ianto kick the door in like ten times. =) I would imagine the empath thing is to start working towards Owen's storyline, since the Weevils are empathic and all.

Ianto kicking in the door and going Terminator. Oh man. Oh man. Rewatched that far too many times. And flailed. A great deal.

Ianto's really blossomed this season, and I'm gobbling it up happily. It's brilliant! They've turned him from Token Emo Boy to A Bit of a Bastard and it suits him so damned well.

Having a waffly discussion on the empathic thing on the TW comm at http://community.livejournal.com/torch_wood/2400849.html :D I would really like to see where this goes.

I do believe I may have screamed YES!! very loudly when Ianto went all tough guy. It's just SUCH an improvement. And makes him more of an appropriate companion for Jack.

I actually try to stay away from the comms because I'm kind of anti-wank right now. I like to watch the show and discuss it with friends and all, but arguing over every little bit is kind of tiring. ;)

Next ep looks even more O.O from the teaser at the end of Meat. Psycho!Ianto? *wibbles* And um, spoilers that I won't mention, but you will squeal. SQUEAL!

(I do believe Ianto is becoming the top :D)

I'm wondering how much of Ianto's blossoming is related to more time on scripts, and how much fanonically to the brief stint with Gwen in charge of TW. They're definitely fused as a tighter team now.

hehehee. Wank can be fun, but when you end up with the Anoraks going at it, it gets a bit...disturbing. And you realise that a large chunk of the population has never had sex. Ever.

I KNOW! Next week looks SO great! I'm trying to stay away from the spoilers though because I don't want anything ruined. Maybe I should just turn off my internet now. ;)

(hmmm...topping from below, maybe? I don't think Jack's ready to totally give up control yet)

It's hard to say what's exactly going on. But it definitely shows that they've had more time to think about how it all fits together. Season 1 is so obviously tossed together that it almost looks like a completely different show now.

Yeah, those people frighten me. I don't even want to think what's going to happen when Who starts up. Fandom is going to be a scary, scary place.

I wouldn't turn off the internets, but I'd kinda stay awy from various comms if possible :D Ah man, I already know a few and it's making me squee, squee, squee. Bonus since we're getting two eps too :D

Jack is completely free of hangup when it comes to sex. He'll catch, he'll pitch, he'll blow, he'll moan, he'll damn well sit in a corner and watch while vigorously masturbating, it's all good as long as he's involved in the sexual process :D But we've already seen Ianto proven to be his Equal, and (well, I'll continue that below the fanwanking comment as you may not know a certain something, so don't read past the fanwank if you don't want to know!)

s1 was tossed together. I think it was something obscene like six months from concept to post-prod. It really should have been shittier than it was - and now they've taken the proper time, it's really show just how damned GOOD it can be.

Believe it or not, but apart from the rabid fansquees, DW fandom is actually a hell of a lot NICER than it used to be.

Fanwanking? Let me put it this way: We invented it. Your most nitpicky anal bespectacled fat pimpled Star Trek Fan looks like a rank fucking amateur compared to DW.

ok and the spoily bit:

Jack gets put through the wringer and just about destroyed emotionally from the events in Adam. The only thing that saves him is his relationship with Ianto, and the fact that Ianto has become his fucking rock.

DAMMIT WHY CAN'T IT BE NEXT WEEK ALREADY

I do try to stay away from some communities. Things still get through though. I don't get upset if I get spoiled, but it just doesn't seem like it's as much fun sometimes.

John was talking about that scene in something I was just listening to...oh! His book! I just listened to the audiobook yesterday and he mentioned something about Jack breaking down and Ianto being there for him. I figured it was going to be in 'Adam' but he didn't say that specifically.

Six more days to wait?? *sigh*

See, this is what I need that time-manipulating remote control for, dammit.

I'm kinda "meh" about spoilers - they tend to be just words. And yeah, you can get all OMG about it, but it doesn't really compare to actually *seeing* it when it happens - it can be two edged. On one hand it can ruin the "surprise" for a scene, on the other it merely heightens your anticipation for it. Case in example - Jack's breakdown. words, words, words, but actually *seeing* it in next weeks ep? That's gonna make you go "GUH"

In other news I desperately need an icon of Ianto the beer drinker. *digs for caps*
