The appointment has been made for 7am tomorrow morning. I've never heard my dad sound as sad as he did when he just called to tell me. I absolutely cannot get off of work so I will not be able to be there. Knowing this would probably be the case, I said goodbye earlier today but it still feels wrong. I should be there with my baby tomorrow. =(

Goodbye, my sweet Riley. I hope you've enjoyed your time with us as much as we've loved having you with us. You're the best dog anyone could ever ask for and you'll be missed by more people than I can count.

Sadly, I don't think a bomb threat would even work. One of my co-workers just had a baby a few days ago(well, his wife did) and they're still making him come in. It's been a bad couple of weeks. =/

Oh, so sad to hear about Riley. I never met him, but from the pictures I've seen, it looks like he was a sweet, lovable, happy dog. My condolences to you and your family. I wish bereavement time off could be counted for pets. It totally should.

I'm so sorry honey. I wish you could be there with him, because I know it'll be hard not to be there (my Odie was put down and I wasn't able to get off work to be there either, so I completely understand how you must feel), but I'm glad you got to say goodbye. *hugs*
