Holy cow! Tonight was awesome!!
seimaisin and I had a very good time. First Avenue was packed to the gills with underage scenesters. Thankfully, since we're of age, we were able to escape the undulating mass of humanity and hang out upstairs. Which also gave me a good vantage point to shoot video. I got almost Boys Like Girls' entire show! I'll be uploading tons of stuff to YouTube tomorrow.
We left about 4 songs into Cartel's set. They sounded good, but after Cobra Starship they looked boring as hell. Because Cobra Starship was AMAZING! That dude has STAGE PRESENCE written all over him. Plus, every show is better when there's a keytar involved.

It was great to see the crowd response to Boys Like Girls. Especially since their CD hadn't even been out when we saw them open for Butch, so no one knew who they were. They sold a ton of merch (including a hawt hoodie to me) and had people singing along for their whole set. Good times!
And super kudos to First Ave because they played The City Drive!!! ♥ And then played Hall & Oates a couple songs later. (??)
More tomorrow. I'm going to bed.

Date: 2007-03-07 06:07 am (UTC)We've already had the BLG discussion. Hahaha. All they need now is to make a good video for Mtv and they'll be headlining their own tour.

Date: 2007-03-07 01:36 pm (UTC)Hero/Heroine was an okay video, but they need to do either The Great Escape or Heels Over Heads.
