The Current Fakebook will bring together writers, be they novelists, screenwriters, bloggers or critics, and some of their favorite musicians for an evening of music and insights that spring from the written word. Current on-air host Mary Lucia , a writer and humorist in her own right, will interview guests and give them time and space to express themselves in a casual, creative and innovative format.
Minnesota native Chuck Klosterman is an American pop-culture journalist, critic, and essayist. Klosterman is the author of Fargo Rock City: A Heavy Metal Odyssey in Rural North Dakota, Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto, and Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story. He is a senior writer for SPIN, a columnist for Esquire, and a contributor to The New York Times Magazine. He has also written for The New York Times Book Review, The Believer, The Washington Post, The Akron Beacon Journal, The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, Gear, Blender, Film Comment, The Village Voice, and GQ. He currently lives in New York.
Tapes 'n Tapes, Minneapolis, indie rock band, formed in the winter of 2003, the band has released two albums, the self-released Tapes 'n Tapes followed by the full-length release, The Loon. Tapes 'n Tapes' musical style varies in tempo and in influence, ranging from fast-paced polka renditions to the slower, more blues-influenced songs. The band made its American television debut on Late Night with David Letterman on July 25th, 2006, performing the song "Insistor." The band's song "Jakov's Suite" was used in a television commercial for Nissan.
