Aug. 25th, 2003 12:14 amThe last entry of my road trip weekend is going to be shorter. Saturday night was fun, but how could it compare to Robin Black?
Julee was awake and looking at her photos and videos from the night before when I woke up. We once again gathered our stuff together to prepare for the long ride home. We had a great breakfast at a little diner, where we were given the option of white or brown toast. Those wacky Canadians!
The drive back wasn't too bad. We didn't get harassed at the border like our last exit from Canada. The traffic wasn't too bad, but the road construction was awful. We tried to get a hold of Ann so we could get my pillow, but it didn't work out. She just said she'd mail it to me. We told Carly that we'd meet them at Club Anything in Milwaukee around 10:30pm. And I checked the Twins scores on my cell phone. Gotta love technology!
We got back to Julee's house around 5pm and decided to relax for a while. We watched her Robin Black and the IRS DVD and just chilled. We were supposed to go to a birthday party for a friend of hers, but just couldn't get the energy to get up and get ready in time. Finally we pulled ourselves off of the furniture and prepared for the evening.
We got up to Milwaukee a little before 11pm. Kris, Grant, Carly & Skum were already at Club Anything waiting for us. We had a very calm evening, just talking and drinking. I haven't seen Kris & Grant since the MSX Minneapolis show. It's bad that we had to be five hours from home to see each other!
I felt really really drunk suddenly, which wasn't so good. We went outside to take some photos together and once I got some fresh air, I was much better.

We sat outside and talked for a while, but everyone looked exhausted. Except for Kris & Grant, who wanted to party some more. Julee & I just wanted to go home and Skum & Carly were leaving for LA in the morning. So we left the club and said goodbyes and gave hugs.
I changed in the street (a lesson learned from Kari of the Peppermint Creeps) and drove all the way back home. Nothing is more fun than driving through the middle of nowhere half-asleep. And then getting pulled over because your headlight is out. (Thank you, Mr. Trooper for letting me go) And having to pee about two minutes after you drink anything. I must have stopped at least ten times on the drive. Needless to say, I was very glad when I got home at 7:30am. I emailed people to say I was okay, checked a couple sites and fell into bed. I woke up at 5pm and I've been relaxing ever since.
I had the most amazing road trip! I'm so glad that I got to share it with Julee!! And that I got to see all my friends again before summer ends.
