This is my new cross-stitch project, now ten days in.



It's hard to see, but there's a lot of gold & silver thread woven in. Eventually it'll be 14"w x 18"h but I'd say it's about 10" high right now. The bottom half has a lot more stitching, so I'm really not anywhere close to being done.

No CJ screencaps yet. Sorry. I got wrangled into doing some work for my uncle, then decided to do my taxes. I'm going to get caught up on all the season 5 eps I haven't done while CJ is on sabbatical.

I've done a lot of stitchin' in the past and anything on black is hard!! But that looks great so far. I hope you post it when you are finished.
I did a really big one last summer while I was pretty much confined to the couch during my pregnancy. It literally took forever! But it was worth it and it turned out really good.

Thanks! I'm going to try to post photos as it progresses, and when it's finished. I need to use my new digital camera for something.

It's not too bad to work on black, I guess. This one is at least 14 count. The last one I did was on 18 count black and was kind of difficult to see sometimes. Especially when I'd be working on it with bleary eyes at 3am. =/

Is that like white on white? Ooooooh, I don't think my eyes would be able to handle that very well. The devil, indeed.

Don't get me started on Dimensions, I have half their cataloge in my house. You don't want to see what I'm working on right now though, it's annoying, that's what it is.

And yeah, white on white is hard. You get used to it after a while though. I try to avoid crosstich and any work on linen like the devil though, give me some good stiff canvas any day...

If I were rich and had like actual free time, I would own SO much of the Dimensions stuff.

I'd love to see what you're working on! I'm always interested in stuff like that. All my friends knit, so I don't usually get to see what other folks are stitching.

I don't like linen much either. It's too easy to let the fabric get lax and then the stitching looks like crap. My biggest pain was working on a baby blanket for my cousin. Ick.

Yeah, I work on stiff canvas when I can. And well, 90% of the dimensions catalog belongs to my mom (you honestly don't want to know how much needlepoint stuff we own. You don't.) but I posted what I"m working on over at the crypt, don't want to hog up your journal.

I have a gigantic box full of old cross-stitch magazines and brochures, back from when my mom did it all the time. So I probably understand a little.

I saw your thread and I'll add my photos to it. But you're always welcome to hog up space over here. Regardless of what the Crazy One says about me, I'm pretty nice. ;)
