We've suddenly gone from scorching summer to early fall in the matter of a day. I fell asleep with my bedroom window open and a fan on and it was freezing in there when I woke up. Heavenly! I actually dug out a sweater to wear to work today.

So, apparently I'm a huge bitch. My mother called me last night and said my aunt wanted to know if I could find out if B&N had the books on my cousin's summer reading list. Now, when I, you know, worked at the bookstore, this was fine. I'd grab whatever books they needed and get them my discount. But I don't work there anymore, so I'm not sure why I needed to be part of this transaction, since I couldn't really help. I told my mom that all I could do was call and see if they had the books, and my aunt (or better yet, my cousin) could do that herself. My mom got really huffy and I just got more confused as to why it was my responsibility to help my cousin get her summer reading list. Finally, my mom just said "Fine! I'll tell her you won't do it!" in that "you're an ungrateful bitch" voice that she can do so well, and hung up. Was I wrong? Why should I sit on the phone and rattle off names of books for someone to look up? It's not my reading list, or my kid.

Did anyone watch RAW last night? I completely forgot about it, since I'm not used to watching it anymore. CM Punk implied that he'd be making his debut, but I didn't see him mentioned in the report I glanced at. Maybe he's going to be on Smackdown instead. I guess I'm going to have to pay more attention to this stuff.

This day has started out badly. I nearly got clipped by some asshat who suddenly needed to be in my lane, nevermind that my car was already there. Now my CD player has decided not to work. This is bad. And they've somehow configured the WMP on our computers so it doesn't output any sound. I think my Yahoo! Launch player still works, at least. It's going to be a very, very long day.

Yeah, okay. Because, really, it totally makes you a bitch to not see why you should take YOUR time to do someone else's work. That's just silly, really.

Yeah, that's kind of what I thought. I dunno. It was just weird. My mom must have been in some sort of mood.

Actually, this is early. Most kids don't think about getting their summer reading books until the week before school starts.

Oh, I have to call on books for my mom all the time still. But she's my mom and it's usually only one or two at a time, so it's not a big deal. I have to draw the line somewhere though. Thanks for your support!

I'm really, really trying to make it better. Only 3 1/2 hours of work to get through.
