leighblackIt was announced today that we are going through ANOTHER reorg here at the day job. I couldn't even begin to count how many I've been through since I've been here, and I think this is the 4th one in the past year or so. But this one is pretty major, and my current team will be broken up and cast to other managers. Thankfully, it appears that no one will be losing their jobs. In fact, we have tons of positions to fill.
But, as my boss was explaining the whole deal to us in our team meeting, I was getting a little worried. None of the new changes and positions that were being talked about sounded anything like what I do. Uh oh. Finally, she started to diagram out that our department actually will still exist, with a different name. And that some of us will still work under her. One of those being me. My little corner of the world, referred to as Security Island, will still exist as it is. In fact, in our little meeting, even though everyone else was confused as to where they would be going and what was going on, my boss pointed out that I was in high demand and she refused to give me up. Me! *facepalm* So, that's pretty cool. It's nice to be wanted. I just hope my desk doesn't move, as we'll probably be playing desk roulette again. I like it here.
