Let me tell you something. I've not told you yet, because it's totally embarrassing, but your boss is getting weirder by the moment. It's more than kind of weird. It's a little creepy. Jamie calls it smarmy. I fear that I may get a hug tomorrow for Christmas. How will I live through it??? Is it wrong to shove a person away and into a giant heaping stack of boxes? What's worse, what did I do to deserve said smarm? I feel that I may have caused it in some awful way, like I somehow encouraged it. Which I certainly hope I did not.
I am in quite a quandry, as I sort of think the afore-mentioned smarm is not appropriate given that we work together and he is a manager.

I don't think he knows how to react. Thankfully, I don't work with him very much. And double thankfully, he didn't give me a Christmas hug today. I don't think I could handle two hugs in one year.
