I arranged for two days off next week while I'm moving. While talking to my boss about it, she pulled up her record of my PTO (paid time off, a fancy way to say vacation days) and said that I would still have 14 days left after that. I agreed that it sounded about right and went back to my desk, but I knew it wasn't right at all. My account shows that I only have 9 days left. I think she forgot to count my sick days. Do you think I'm going to mention anything about it?? ;) For those who may remember, a very similar thing happened last year. I ended up with about 4 extra days then too. I'm not complaining!

Then, this morning, HR sends out a memo that they're increasing our PTO accrual rate to stay competitive with other companies. So, instead of 1.5 days a month (18 days a year), I get 1.92 days (23 for the year). Plus, we still get three floating holidays. That brings me to a total of 40 days off for next year! Whoo-hoo!! And since it sounds like my Faster boys are planning to tour next summer, I couldn't ask for anything better.

Sorry, I'm sure none of you care. I'm just sitting here doing the happy dance in my head (instead of in my cube) and I needed to share. =)

Thanks! I plan to have some real fun since my favorite band should be on tour. Last year, I stalked them for nine days. Next year I could easily do a couple weeks on the road, with the only problem being I'd come back to a mountain of work.

40 days off??? Where do I sign up???

You do know that if you end up stalking/following them for that long that you WILL become laundry/errand/merch bitch a MILLION times worse than you were last year.

And I'll be fully jealous... ;)

We figured out tonight that's like 2 months off of work. How fab is that?!?

I know, I know. I will be entirely abused if I'm on tour for a long ass time. I should jsut move into the bus at some point.
