Nov. 23rd, 2004 08:58 amI arranged for two days off next week while I'm moving. While talking to my boss about it, she pulled up her record of my PTO (paid time off, a fancy way to say vacation days) and said that I would still have 14 days left after that. I agreed that it sounded about right and went back to my desk, but I knew it wasn't right at all. My account shows that I only have 9 days left. I think she forgot to count my sick days. Do you think I'm going to mention anything about it?? ;) For those who may remember, a very similar thing happened last year. I ended up with about 4 extra days then too. I'm not complaining!
Then, this morning, HR sends out a memo that they're increasing our PTO accrual rate to stay competitive with other companies. So, instead of 1.5 days a month (18 days a year), I get 1.92 days (23 for the year). Plus, we still get three floating holidays. That brings me to a total of 40 days off for next year! Whoo-hoo!! And since it sounds like my Faster boys are planning to tour next summer, I couldn't ask for anything better.
Sorry, I'm sure none of you care. I'm just sitting here doing the happy dance in my head (instead of in my cube) and I needed to share. =)
