so I think maybe I've made some decisions about my CONvergence costume. because it's now less than 3 months away and I'm trying to be more proactive than last year. we'll see about that. I also said I wasn't going to sew anything and here we are. we were doing a steampunk western bordello/saloon thing, but we we may end up doing away with the steampunk part because we're lazy and unmotivated. time will tell.

I bought this shirt last night. because it's cute and I like it and I'll be able to wear it other places. and it was on clearance. and apparently I got the last one? idek. but it looks corset-y without being a corset because wearing a corset for an entire night is not my idea of fun. I already bought this pattern, because bloomers are a YES. the knee-length ones, I think. then I think I want to make either this skirt (without the underskirt thingy) or one of these petticoats (just as a skirt). with the skirt in blue with black accents and black bloomers, or vice-versa. will depend on whether or not I'm able to match the blue in the top.

doable, I think. I sense a trip to JoAnn in my future this evening.

and I'm still contemplating doing an Elmyra cosplay for Friday night. but one thing at a time, eh?

If the blue doesn't match perfectly, it's OK. In the designing world, we call perfectly-matching colors "bridesmaid". Having things a different shade or a coordinating color are best.

right, not matchy-matchy. but something complimentary that's sort of the same fabric. if I'm lucky. this may mean a trip out to the fabric warehouse, which I am perfectly okay with. ;)

they do kind of have a certain thing going on there. perfect for pirating or wenching or saloon girling.

Friday is a free for all night and Saturday is Robo-Bordello, maybe minus the Robo part. ;)
