RENT take two

I went to see RENT again tonight. The South African Idol guy was out for the performance and his understudy went to the Drama School of Overacting. Also, he missed a whole entire line. BAD. Mark sounded much stronger tonight because I think he figured he was going to have to hold the whole damn thing together. Collins kinda sucked again. Benny, Maureen and the female soloist were awesome. I managed to stop myself from buying the $65 hoodie. Bren & I had a lovely time out. In fact, we're going to hang out for a third day tomorrow as we're going to watch the RENT movie and maybe talk some Doctor Who. =) I'll try to remember to take some new photos of Henry.

Dammit. The 2009 RENT tour with Adam & Anthony is not coming here! I see a trip to either Detroit or LA in my future for next year.

Okay, I don't watch Psych, but that "Ebony & Ivory" commercial is the best damn thing on television right now. ♥

I managed to sleep most of the day and now I'm not tired at all. This is bad. =/

Psych is hilarious. You really should check it out.

And are you sure it's not the "David Caruso/HoCain School of Overacting", or was it at least better than that??

I know, I know. But I watch enough TV as it is already.

It was just...bad. He played Roger all wrong, lots of crying and anguish. Not how Roger should be at all.

I'm with her... you should definitely watch Psych.

And you know, if it was the David Caruso School of Overacting, every dramatic scene would have to be accented by putting on sunglasses with a flourish.

Ha ha. No, nothing like that. Roger is supposed to be closed-off and emotionless and this dude was practically bawling through the whole thing.

his understudy went to the Drama School of Overacting.

hahahaha

It was bad. Just bad.

Sooooo...if I bought tickets to come out for RENT next March, would you want to go? And a houseguest? I'm just pondering what I want to do...

Sure, I'm game. How much are tix? Mina loves Rent too.

I don't know. They're not on sale yet. I would guess good ones are $75-100 range, mid-level $50-75. We can discuss later.

okee dokee

We are SO GOING to see it here. I will not miss out on Anthony. I'll leave a trail of destruction. Please believe.

I'm super disappointed that the tour is not coming back here. The original tour started in St. Paul! It just seems like the very last tour should come through too.

I'm thinking I'll head to LA to see it. I'll be ready for some nice weather in March. =)

Sadly, I have never seen RENT. Not even the movie version. :(

And I feel your pain about the sleep thing. My sleep schedule has been completely wonky since I've been stuck at home. I'm not looking forward to trying to get back on a normal sleep schedule when I'm finally able to go back to work.

No? I've been a RENThead since the very beginning. Which was always strange since I wasn't into musicals at all then. My parents bought me tickets for my birthday to see the very first tour and my mom was very confused that I wanted theater tickets. I did the fandom pretty hardcore for a while there and I have tons of bootlegs stuffed into a huge folder on my computer.

I didn't fall asleep on Sat night until like 5am. I got up at 10am, did some stuff and then gave up and went back to bed until 3:30. Oops. Getting up at 5:30 this morning didn't go so well.

Maybe I'll download the movie version and see what all the hype is about!

And yeah, I would imagine that you feel pretty crappy right about now!

You should watch Psych, it's hilarious! I mean, the first episode suffers like most first episodes, but then they start getting into this awesome, awesome, awesome swing of awesomeness and hilarity. And the first season finale was actually kind of terrifying while being completely hilarious.

I'm so serious, I'd be willing to lend you my season 1 DVDs x.x

[identity profile] leighblack.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the offer, but I'm sure I can find it available for download. The problem is that I already have at least a dozen shows downloaded that I need to watch. I shouldn't be downloading more!

D: One more can't hurt! It's really good, I swear.

I'm in the "you really should watch Psych" camp. :)

You can watch it here: http://www.hulu.com/psych

Of these, my favorite is Rob-A-Bye Baby.
