I'm on the other side of the city from the bridge. I've been stuck at Hallmark all night without access to anything but what I could get from the 'net on my phone. Which just freaked me out because I had little idea of what was going on. Thank goodness

I'm stunned at how many of my people are MPLS ppl.

Every time I think, OK, I'm only waiting on one more, someone else pops up.

I'm still waiting on [Unknown site tag]. That may be it, but I'm probably wrong.

Yeah, I keep remembering about people I know. But most everyone has checked in now.

I think the last one just checked in. There might be a straggler or two, but I think I would have had a phone call by now from Hols or someone if there was DISASTER or TRAGEDY.

This is totally, unbelievably, horribly surreal. A friggin BRIDGE.

And everyone I was supposed to meet at dance tonight was running a little behind, which had me completely freaked out, because I couldn't use my cell phone for anything but texting, and there were no responses. Thankfully, everyone over here is now accounted for.

Yeah, I just know don't how to even imagine this. Not just a bridge. THE bridge.

I damn near fell into a dead faint when I read it and saw the pictures! When I read about how terrorism wasn't even suspected, I didn't even CONSIDER that... I was just like "It's a fucking BRIDGE, made by a MAN, of COURSE it'd do THAT!!! Those things are dangerous!"

Well, good. I felt guilty that I didn't worry a lot? I figured I would have heard almost immediately if something bad had happened.

Ok, and is it just me or is the press completely retarded. The first thing I hear is "No indications of terrorism!"....umm, that's good, but terrorism never really occurred to me? Who are these people that think every time something bad happens it's automatically a terrorist act?

Oh, and someone needs to give that school bus driver an award for stopping in time to not plunge off into the water. The school bus driver I had while in school would have been on her cell phone/cb radio and wouldn't even have noticed shit happening. No really, not even the road dropping out from under her.

Well, it's going to be like that for a long time to come. Even when just a little plane crashes, you still hear all about how it's not terrorism. Gee, really?

Yeah, the whole school bus thing could have gone SO badly. And it's still amazing to see how many people stayed on the bridge to help other people rather than hightailing it out of there. Though I did hear stories of U of M students drinking on the shore and mocking people. =(
